Popular Post recker222000 Posted February 28, 2017 Popular Post Posted February 28, 2017 I feel like adding the fact he had one of the best bigs in the A 10 coming back but he DIED. Not injured DIED. Yet he still has his team playing great!! That says more to me than anything that he can take that kind of hit to his team and still somehow manage to keep young teenagers together to compete and even more chase a conference championship. So we all know Creans excuses yet this guy has had plenty of more legit reasons to fail and doesnt have close to what IU can offer to fix these things recruiting wise and still wins. Good enough? Sorry Archie isn't even my top choice but he deserves to be and we would be lucky to have him. Sent from my LGLS676 using BtownBanners mobile appWhat no excuses from archie? If we don't get a big name he is my guy over mack or holtmann. He is a good coach who runs a good system. Every coach is a risk but I'd take a risk on him.Sent from my SM-J700T using Tapatalk Ryno6284, CR3AMnCR1MS0N, Yogi's Picnic Basket and 5 others 8 Quote

bleedhoosier Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 I think half of this whole scenario wouldn't exist if Crean would have just hit an elite eight. 1 more game in his 9 year span and I would not be swapping him in for an Archie type. It would be Donovan/Stevens or bust. And at the same time, possibly not. Recruiting is just really suspect lately. Without De'ron, this current class is basically a bust. Looks like the same content for next year again. Our recruiting screams that of a middle of the pack program.Sent from my SCH-I545 using BtownBanners mobile app pumpfake and WayneFleekHoosier 2 Quote

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBannersYeah I'm hesitant about KSU being involved as well. Their dream candidate is Brad Underwood. Most KSU fans wanted to get rid of Weber last year to get Underwood. I don't think going from Weber to Crean would be popular while Underwood is still at Oklahoma State...Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote
bhaggard89 Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 I've seen some SEC articles saying Crean would be a good fit for LSU. Please let him just leave on his own accord, that would be beautiful. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

HooHooHoo22 Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 If Crean goes to Missouri that would be hilarious. Wasn't one of the posters on here just joking about him going there a month ago ? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Quote

Walking Boot of Doom Posted February 28, 2017 Posted February 28, 2017 Missouri is a decimated program with zero momentum. That's the kind of program that would look at what Crean did for IU and salivate. Consistency is his issue, but he definitely brings hype and attention and some real solid highs to a program. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app To me, 2008 IU and 2017 Missouri are apples-to-oranges. IU has always, even in the darkest of times, had a ton of fan support, financial backing, and history to build off of. Some may disagree, but Mizzou has never been anything but an "also-ran". They were pretty good in the 80s and had some spotty "recent" success with Mike Anderson, and Quinn Snyder, but if TC were to go there he'd be looking to build his own legacy, rather than re-build what IU once was under Knight. Right now, apathy seems to be at an all-time high there. With that said, I think he could do some really good things at Missouri. If he could replicate there, what he's done here, they'd be pretty darn happy one would think. I think that LSU is a better fit, in some ways, but I'd be surprised if they were willing to pay anywhere near what Crean is making here. Missouri seems like they want to be a player, so it will be interesting to see what happens. Quote
