TOM CREAN FIRED

Recommended Posts

Our ball movement was a little better then usually last night but most of our 3's were wide open because Iowa just decided not to play defense. I remember the out of bounds play where JBJ was WIDE OPEN in the corner after making 2 or 3 consecutive shots before that. They kind of just started falling apart around that time

Iowa sure didnt play with much energy.Whats so disappointing to me about our squad is they did this game but cant sustain it.Just as likely we come out looking like fresh steaming turds next.

Folks, relax.

Crean is without a doubt gone, you can tell by his demeanor. Hell, you can tell by Fred declining to comment about Crean's future.

A win vs Iowa is worthless, Iowa is trash. I'd only be impressed/worried if we won the tournament, which we know won't happen.

I hope you're right man, I wish a presser would come out saying Crean is gone but will be able to coach the rest of the season.

Would anyone like to entertain the idea that Crean felt our heads were getting too big at the start of the season?

So from there he's been throwing games all season...

But with the Iowa game last night he's turning up the gas. Turning up the claps. Turning up his energy

Win the B1G tourney. Sneak into the big dance.

On to banner #6 (or #7 if you're Dakich).

Does anyone find it odd that right when crean was announced gone by sources that the boys look like a top 25 team? Pressure off? Possibly wanted crean gone? Or as crean would say they just getting healthy? The reason they shot so well last night imo was ball movement and hustle and improved intensity on defense. Weird to me

Honestly, I don't find this odd at all. This is Tom Crean. This is his MO. He can rally his teams to play their best when they are the underdog and it looks like they can't win (Kansas and UNC). Unfortunately, he can't be the Alpha Dog. He can't motivate on games they are supposed to win or expected to win, like this season.

With the possible exception of Cody and Victor's last season, every year they were expected to do well, they have not. Remember how good everyone said they were going to be the year Vonleh played? They were terrible, but better than this year when they were ranked as high as 3.

So now that no one expects anything from them, Crean is able to motivate. I've said several times, he doesn't know how to handle success. I don't know if he gets a big head and thinks he's as smart as he has the national media thinking he is, or what.

How in the heck did these guys play as well as they did last night without OG??? I thought that was the reason the season tanked! Isn't that what all the experts said?

While I'm not as confident as you are, I do think that Wisconsin handles IU in it's usual fashion tonight and refreshes everybody's memories on why TC needs to go.

My expectations as well. We've won two in a row against two bad teams. Doesn't mean much has changed.

Guys, my son is a teenager and has witnessed 2 wins against Wisconsin.   Cough, cough....I don't care how poor Wisconsin has been playing, they have creans #.

The haters will say it was all Bo Ryan.

I was talking to my neighbor who is a Michigan State guy. He was trying to tell me that Crean was a great coach and that we've won more B1G titles recently than MSU. I showed him our wins and losses this year and he still wouldn't give up his argument. I asked him if he'd be willing to trade coaches if Crean was so great, then he balked. Weird, eh?
