The Billy D hype train has taken over again. Bad news is now it seems like it is Billy and  Bennett as good hires and Archie as a option if we miss lol. Every other coach has been getting **** down. It is very possible we dont get any of those 3 so I feel bad for those that cant be open minded. Coaching is about success yes but also the little things too. What I do is picture any of these guys actually at IU instead of seeing them at their current school which is gonna be them a lot less perks than being here. If that wasnt the case why would any coach leave? Obviously we should aim high but we should also look at other candidates as well. We can argue Billy and Bennett are at better jobs already not that I think so but it is arguable. Archie is gonna be chased by many and if OSU jumps in then who knows. We can all hard pass all we want but I will take a hard pass at not giving any guy not named one of those 3 a shot. This is why I hated the Billy D rumors. A few weeks ago we were all naming 10-15 guys and now those same guys arent good enough lol. Trust me if the Billy D rumors come true I will be ecstatic but I am also keeping an open mind.

Archie is a great back up plan. No excuse for losing him if that's who we target.

I think some on here are going to need to prep themselves mentally if Donovan isn't the guy. We can still bring IU back to the top of the league CONSISTENTLY with the next tier. I want it to be the "homerun" but let's be aware that someone like Archie or Holtmann (haven't seen him mentioned much lately) could be the "next homerun". If u give me someone with strong fundamentals, I'm going to be pleased.

The comments about "uniting the fanbase", if true, feels like Alford, no?

Alford wouldn't unite the fan base at all. The old timers would be thrilled, the generations who barely have seen a championship would be pissed

Exactly why we may end up losing him. If he is our back up plan plenty of other schools will hope he is their first and only plan. We may have some leverage but like I said keep an open mind. If all these guys were at IU now instead of mid power 5 schools or mid majors or wherever than I think they would have some better success.

We can outbid and offer better facilities than any other school this year.

100% was told to take them down. 100% don't think he was trolling. Football players aren't smart, but that would be ridiculously dumb to tweet that out for fun. He heard something, now if that person was joking who knows, but I believe he heard something.

I've been away a couple days... Who's this poster and what did he say?

No, you've just got gas.  Believe me, Alford would not unite the IU fanbase; not at all.

Yea I don't want him, at all. I'm just not sure what that comment refers to. Something along the lines of uniting the fanbase on a hire everyone can be excited about?

I have to be honest.  I would prefer Bennett over Donovan.  Donovan is exciting because of his track record and the weight that his name would bring to IU, but I have followed Bennett and his father for a long time and I am not sure that there is anyone better at coaching fundamentals of the game.

I believe Bennett with talent like Indiana could provide would be a great fit. If he had better talent his offense would look a bit different and more successful. He's still in that second tier for me.

Bennetts stats are better Donovan has the rings. They are 2a and 2b for me. I will be ecstatic either way if we snag one of them.

Okay all, when was it that you realized for certain that Crean was not the man for the job?  I knew the first time I saw Verdell Jones fall down.

April and Priller signings were very worrisome. There have been stages of doubt. I've had problems for a long time.

I never thought the 3 year rebuild should have been as bad as it was.
