HoosierAloha Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 That dude is trolling hard. I'm sorry but even the most diehard IU fan can't seriously, ever never ever, say "I don't care if they win another game this year." Quote

If you told me that would be enough I would gladly lose our next 8 gamesI think we're all at the point we want Crean gone. I don't want IU to lose. I stopped following closely when "denim shirt" was hired because it was a shift in what I was raised on about the IU program. If I were in charge and Crean somehow won every game the rest of the season I would let him go after the championship was over. LIHoosier, Napleshoosier, VO5 and 4 others 7 Quote
coonhounds Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 Beating purdue at home could spell the beginning of trouble for anti crean crowd. I hope iu wins but Crean needs to go at the same time. I think the injury excuse will give him another year, but that's it because we're going to suck bad next year, so after that Glass will have no choice but to let him go or ppl will be calling for his job.Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G891A using BtownBanners mobile app cthomas, pumpfake, theriverpilot and 1 other 4 Quote

WayneFleekHoosier Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 Yep. I firmly believe he is back next year. Unless we lose nearly all the remaining games, which we won't. I think next year's recruiting class should be an even bigger factor to make a move soon but it won't. Sent from my iPad using BtownBanners MikeRoberts, pumpfake and FortWayneHoosier 3 Quote

Still, how many of you truly believe he gets fired after this season? Unless something dramatic happens, I say it less than a 5% chance. I do think it's unfair to say that the "injury excuse" has no merit. IU is down 2, maybe 3, starters from the preseason and appears Morgan and Davis are less than 100%. Not even the '96 Bulls are gonna just shake off losses like that. Our team was dead in the water before any of the injuries though. I think there's a good chance it'll have merit with Glass, but I don't think it should. Next year is going to be worse than this year. We're likely losing our top 3 players and we have no one to replace them. Some of the recruits look like they could be good 4 year players for us, but they won't be ready for major contributions by next year. 2018 recruiting doesn't look very prosperous. Glass is smart enough to look ahead and see that the future is dim. If he doesn't make a move after this year I'll lose a lot of confidence in him as an AD. If next year is going to be another down year there's no benefit to keeping Crean around for it and then firing him afterwards. Bring a new guy in and start the rebuild a year early. recker222000, ctown2grhoosier, MikeRoberts and 1 other 4 Quote

TheWatShot Posted February 6, 2017 Posted February 6, 2017 If Crean had Waters and Wilkes coming in next year and 2/3 of Blackmon, Bryant and OG were coming back, I think Crean would be safe. If 2/3 of them leave, I think he's done. Glass is smart enough to realize next year will be another wasted year if that happens. 8bucks 1 Quote

That is what I think will happen, not what I think should. 1) The Big Ten title is nice, but that isn't going to win games next season, or any future season. 2) The team was fading even before the injuries. 3) The buyout is irrelevant and always has been.
