That's a solid name to throw in the hat. He really seems like a Northeast guy though, but I wouldn't be opposed to inquiring on him. I am on the Holtman train personally. I do hope we do our due diligence there. He has built strong relationships in state with the area coaches, but isn't afraid to go out of state. I love his emphasis on minimizing turnovers and heady pg play. Solid in game coach. He is only 45 and has interviewed for other positions. He interviewed for Tennessee's position. So he isn't locked in.

Holtmann's in game decisions and creating favorable offensive and defensive matchups make him stand out to me.  In a more favorable recruiting situation, I think he would be an excellent choice.

Turgeon made a few changes near the end that worked.

Attacking Blackmon on O and switching Cowan to Blackmon on D. Both worked. They won a close game.

Granted, Rob hits that we are still playing but.... Could have won it outright.

Blackmon stepping out of bounds up 2 with ball was a critical point as as well.

How many times could we say "if we didn't have that dumb turnover.." it's a result of poor basketball philosophy that cause those turnovers.

That was the first of three straight turnovers.

Crean was on par with Turgeon tonight....which proves he needs to go. Turgeon is the biggest underachiever in the Big Ten.

FIRE HIM! This is embarrassing

Here's the problem as I see it.  I expected us to lose this game.  Even when we had a lead.  I knew we wouldn't execute or make the plays necessary to win.  The bar has been lowered.   We are 1-3 in the Big Ten, and I expected us to lose a game we really could and probably should have won.

Oh, by the way?  Thomas Bryant is a horrible post player.  Awful.  His footwork is atrocious, he's weak, and he's one dimensional.   Freddie McSwain is worthless.  Does every shot he takes get blocked?  14 turnovers.  9 assists.  Loss.   Does nobody on the coaching staff see this pattern?   Our starting point guard has one assist.  That's almost hard to believe until I remember our offense doesn't move or screen.  We shoot 9 FT's, they shoot 22.  Um....there's a reason, boys.  We can't guard, and we don't attack.  Oh, and our post players are awful in the post against decent defenders.      We out-rebounded them.  Got 7 more FG's.  And...we lost.  Wash, rinse, repeat.

I expected us to lose.  And I find that so incredibly sad.

Our best post player only seen the floor for 12 minutes and got 2 shots with only 1 foul. This is 2 games after he kept us in the Wisconsin game and dominated there bigs.
