TOM CREAN FIRED

When was he supposed to fire him? You had your small window a few years ago when a lot of fans wanted him gone, sure, but giving him another shot was a calculated risk. A risk that paid off last year in another B1G title.

It's been said multiple times, but who was Glass going to get if he fired Crean a few years ago? Another Crean? Then we're back to square one for no particular reason.

Maybe Glass has hurt some feelings by not giving some fans what they want, but this thing about Glass being the one letting down the basketball program is kind of weird.

He should have fired him when he missed the tournament or when we had players spending more time in court then on the court.

He definitely could have. I don't think anyone would have faulted him for it, but again, who would we have gotten? I have to assume he did his due diligence seeing if there was interest from anyone and probably wasn't convinced that there was an upgrade. I don't think that means he's let down the program.

Honestly I think anyone that coached a fundamentally sound game would have been ok. It's Indiana players will come, and coaches will be able to recruit better with the budget they are given here. I don't think fans would be near as upset if we got beat based on not being the better team instead of lack of knowledge, poor coaching decisions, and fundamentals.

I have said it before and this is all on Glass. Having been an Indiana graduate, he knows what the program is measured. Instead of next man up many years ago, he was busy deciphering Creans X's and O's and placating him. Look no more than Texas or Alabama football where you either win big or go coach somewhere else. We are the laughing stock of college basketball thanks to him and 2 other AD's before him. He needs to go just as much as Creans.

This has been brought up many times on this board, and it still isn't true.

I'm not going to go as far as some regarding Glass but I would say things have been turbulent at best under his tenure. Lots of coaching turnover, under-achieving sports that are traditional powerhouses...

Good on McSwain and McRoberts getting run in this game. Good on Newkirk for taking shots that he should never be taking. Good on Bryant slapping the floor then giving up layups and getting his weak attempts stuffed. Good on JBJ not getting enough good looks. Good on the timeout when the game was out of hand. Good on pressing with 10 seconds left. Good on an absolute horrible possession out of a timeout late.

Crean's "great" coaching might eventually give us all what we want.

CREAN GONE TO COACH AT A FOOTBALL SCHOOL.

It will be amazing when the Tom Crean era at Indiana university is over. It's time. It's been time.

Crean would be fine at a non-pUKe SEC school (maybe remove Florida too, maybe), because they never would've hired him in the first place let alone give him 10 years.  Most other SEC schools he could get the under the radar kids he loves so much and be afforded the time to let them develop for a decent run or two here or there, he wouldn't be under the same pressure to win consistently; don't crap the bed during not-football season and most of them would be thrilled.

In doesn't hurt that at those schools the favorite sports are football and talking about football.
