JSHoosier Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 actually it's why you believe we were able to beat uk. My opinion and probably a lot others would say we won because our guys wanted it more aslo Terrance jones (not coaching) decided to be a no show that game Jones also seemed to be a good matchup for Watford IIRC. Plus pUKe is a team that likes to play fast which is right in Crean's wheelhouse, it's when teams slow it down (or heaven forbid play a mystical zone) that our offense struggles. coonhounds 1 Quote
bleedhoosier Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Lol, mystical zone. That's fitting GloryDays and coonhounds 2 Quote
JSHoosier Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Lmao. You know we have people who have spoke with the mods about signing up but they won't with the mob mentality. This is the type of stuff they are talking about. I honestly hope you guys are as perfect at your jobs as you portray on here. This is nuts. We lose a game, it's Crean's fault. Never mind a fluke play where the defenders didn't communicate who their man was. Then we win a road game at UM to win the title conference and it's his fault it's so close. Do you guys honestly believe the stuff you say? Can you guys not find any good in his coaching or development of players? I can honestly say I am glad I don't work with any of you and live up to your standards. Speaking for myself I wouldn't say it's his fault the game was close, we've always played UM well with Crean at the helm. I've said we got lucky, but when the ball does everything but go in then yeah I'd say you got lucky (or in UM's case, unlucky). Sometimes breaks go your way, sometimes they don't, and that was a case where the break went our way. Quote
JSHoosier Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Also posted in the IU vs. Duke Game thread.\ From Assembly Call - "Cover Your Eyes..." http://assemblycall....ad-under-crean/ Capsule summary of how we've fared as a road team since 2011 and it ain't pretty. Overall road record v top-25 teams: 4-16 Overall road record v top-25 teams outside of 2012-13 season: 0-16 Average margin of defeat in 16 losses: 14.6 points Overall road record against all opponents: 17-33 Overall road record against all opponents outside of 2012-13 season: 10-31 We really have to play to near perfection if we're going to end Duke's home streak and get a W. To expand on this a bit. Since so many want to throw out Crean's third year (I don't agree, but whatever), we go from 4-16 to 4-11; still pretty bad. Quote

Rough numbers over same span for others: Kansas 15-13 Syracuse 12-10 Would love to see more of these numbers. Interesting stat. Quote
Walking Boot of Doom Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Are fan base isn't ridiculous... Our fan base is reacting to 15 years of poor upper management. How could you not be ticked off after Knight was fired and we proceeded to hire 3 bad coaches? Reacting to 15 years of poor upper management by naming Crean the scapegoat and attacking him in every way possible. I'm ready for a better coach who can bring better results, but go and read the article on how the fanbase has treated Crean again. Do you want to be associated with those actions? I sure as hell don't. It's embarrassing how people take out their anger from the past two decades on a man who has plenty of faults, but who has given the program everything he's got. It'd be great to see some more class out of the fanbase that LOVES to brag about doing things "the right way" as a program. waitingon6, CottageGrove, Parakeet Jones and 2 others 5 Quote
Uspshoosier Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Go back and watch the last five minutes of that game.the last 5 minutes of that game look the same as 100 other last 5 minutes of other games where a better team lost JaybobHoosier 1 Quote

biteoftheapple Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Granted the attacks described are tasteless. But, the chant was at a high school game. How many tasteless things have been done by high school students, for many years. The joke on his daughter, while bad, was one man. This is not the whole fanbase. They are isolated incidences. Those "isolated" incidents are products of an entire fanbase supporting and promoting that kind of behavior. The entire fanbase is not promoting bad behavior. Just bc a very small minority of posters on message boards attack Crean for ridiculous reasons, doesn't mean the fanbase is promoting anything. I've heard way worse chanted at high school games. The professor should be reprimanded if he hasn't already. There is no reason to jump on Crean for the superficial stuff. His lack of coaching acumen gives ample ammo for those of us who want him gone. Probably why I just ignore the few that complain about clapping. Feathery Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 Twitter is a cesspool, it is full of people posting anything to get a reaction. No joke. I remember a few years ago a Ohio State football recruit decomitted and went to Michigan. The kid started getting death threats from OSU fans. I'm actually glad Crean stopped tweeting. JSHoosier Posted December 2, 2015 Posted December 2, 2015 So when we had a seemingly unending line of off court incidents, we were supposed to view them as isolated incidents. When high school kids boo Crean's son (inappropriate and I don't remember seeing anyone condone it) or a professor making a bad joke with Crean's daughter in class (again, inappropriate and I don't remember seeing it condoned at least on here), they're not isolated incidents. I really don't remember seeing anyone on here condone either of those. I don't follow Twitter closely since I don't use it, but like any social media I imagine you'll see a lot of stupid stuff that doesn't necessarily reflect the majority; unfortunately the dumbest people tend to be the loudest.
