I hope none of this upsets the chemistry that we had going over the spring and summer. We went out and got replacements for those guys. Integrating new pieces this late in the process can be tricky.

I doubt it. Depth is good.  And part of the value in Cigs never letting up strategy is everybody gets to play

Highly doubtful. I'm not even sure Daley will get a ton of reps due to his injury. If I had to guess he's probably not 100% and we won't see him on the field until mid season or so. Unless of course he's a freak and has some sort of super power of healing. But I could be wrong. He might be ready to go for all we know.

Holy poop do we have depth in the front 4!! The great thing about getting Daley for another season is it really ups Daley's NFL stock should his progression improve. Last year during a presser, Coach Cig mentioned he wished he had him for a couple of years. Wish granted.

I wonder if the recent addition of Daley would have moved our earlier, pre-season rankings just a smidge?...... I know he's not proven yet from his injury, but man,......he's a monster addition to our defense. It just had my thinking a bit.....

Nah our rankings aren’t objective they are based on history not what Cig had done

If the injury was actually a ruptured patellar tendon I'd agree there, although he was moving pretty well on his instagram video.

We don't know for sure what the injury was either though.

We received the second-most first-place votes in the poll, yet we're outside the top five. It's rare for a team with the second-most first-place votes to be ranked that low—I can't recall ever seeing it happen.

That tells me some coaches likely left us outside their top 10. Maybe a few feelings are still hurt LOL.

I expect the AP Poll to have us in the top five. Since it's voted on by media members rather than coaches, it should provide a more neutral perspective.

You’re quite right.

Remember all those years when we got excited hoping to crack the top 25?

That makes it sound like there were many of them. I think you mean "those few years"

I think its a Sonny Dykes passive-aggressive retort to the 'Hoover's got a running game and defense now' comment from Cig.

With the obvious condition that the goal is to rip off 32 straight, my pie-in-the-sky dream is for Sonny to back TCU into the playoff as a 12-seed and mosey up to Bloomington and play a pissed off 5-seed IU on a windy 20-degree day.

TCU gets an 8/9 and gets a win and we smack them around whatever bowl we end up in
