Uspshoosier Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Cant say I'm super exctied about a 3 star ranked 168 at this point. Thought we'd hold out for higher ranked guys. Tim will tell I guess.Sent from my SM-J700T using TapatalkI'm sure North Carolina fans were not super excited about a 3 star ranked 179 after they missed out on a bunch of their targets and had to take Luke Maye but I'm guessing they were fine with it after he hit a game winning shot to send his team to the final 4 against a team of one and dones. Banksyrules Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 I'll just say this. I'm all for getting Garland and Langford as well and I'm willing to add whoever we need for the 2019 loaded class. Coach Miller's system needs to be in place and I understand he needs his players to do it. I just don't want him to Make oversign a habit. I bashed Coach Crean for it, and I'll do the same to coach Miller. Just my opinion. Hoosier Guy, Iugradman and cthomas 3 Quote

cthomas Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 As I've said before, I trust Coach Miller to build this team to play his way. The recruiting so far leads me to believe he's getting who he wants. He obviously wants to win big sooner than later. He's been here long enough to know what he has versus what he needs. Bobman1 Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 If Garland and Romeo both want to come to IU., they will. No way in hell Archie declines one because of a "full class."Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Hoosier Guy, Iugradman and HoosierAloha 3 Quote
Yogi's Picnic Basket Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 If and huge if but if Garland comes I expect Al Durham to jump ship. I think he could be a good player here but he wants to play and it is hard for me to see him wanting to wait behind Green, CuJo, Phinisee, Anderson, Garland and Romeo. I only say the last 2 because it only becomes a concern IF we get both. Other than that we are fine. Dort and Brown are the only other kids we are probably even gonna send a text too besides the big 2 from here on out in the 18 class. Calm down folks. Old Friend Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 I was not impressed with the Bruiser Flint hire, so I'm skeptical and I still have no idea why we feel the need to go to Philadelphia to find the #37 ranked PF in the country. BUT....He runs the floor well, he's bouncy, he shows lots of potential fundamentally and seems to understand spacing and help side defense based on the 4 videos I just watched (he opened the right way in a screen/roll, for example..many kids don't). If he stays 3-4 years, I can see him making an impact. Bruiser Flint and his connections scare me because I just don't think he's that great. Guy won 53% of his games and never did a thing as a head coach. In his last 2 seasons, his Drexel teams went 17-44 ; and he never made the NCAA tournament in a horrible Colonial Athletic Conference. Welcome to the kid....hope he's terrific. Trish 1 Quote
Brass Cannon Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Seems like a guy who is gonna be happy coming off the bench for 4 years. I'm fine with it. Seems to me to mean that Morgan very well could be leaving us. Will be a Shane if he does. Was hoping to see a senior Morgan. Iugradman 1 Quote

I was just a bit surprised given the 2019 class we will not hold a grant ovet if we don't get garland. Sent from my SM-J700T using Tapatalk Quote

We need him to be a contender in 2018. If we get Romeo and Garland we will be a contender without Morgan. Brass Cannon Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Fwiw the 2 services that to me appear to be more on the ball 247 and Rivals both have him as top 150. 147 and 142 respectively. Quote

Yeah, this isn't a reach by any means. He's miles ahead of guys like Maniru, Jurkin, April, etc. I think people would be much more excited if we weren't worried about scholarships, me included. This would usually be a great upside pickup if we had an extra scholly to burn. I'm sure it will all work out though. Iugradman and Hoosierfan2017 2 Quote

Brass Cannon Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Also ESPN has him as the 19th center in the class. I really don't think the composite is even right on him. EDIT looks like his composite suffered because scout doesn't have him ranked. Iugradman, ALASKA HOOSIER and lillurk 3 Quote
rcbowla Posted September 12, 2017 Posted September 12, 2017 Why would Morgan want to leave after this season? He will be a featured Senior on a young and talented team. Also his skill set really would seem to fit into Archie's system. Not understanding the speculation with him leaving. I believe Morgan will finish his college career at IU. There are a number of others that I'm not so sure about however. Iugradman 1 Quote
