  1. Sparty winning at Purdue was the best outcome for IU moving forward. Since IU couldn’t find a way to get past Northwestern you would want Sparty coming in as high in the NET and B1G as possible. IU will have an opportunity to add a home win against a top 10 NET team

Jack Benter on PeeYew wants to change his last name to "Gohlke." A 26 foot guarded jumper by the freshman that is averaging 5ppg in the last minute with 15 seconds left on the shot clock. lol

    IUFB Offseason Updates

Pretty cool. Can’t wait to see his 40 time, but he won’t run until IU’s pro day (needs time to train since the season went so long).

    Scott Dolson Thread

Once you get passed the first 2 months of DDs tenure, I believe he's done quite well. I think we're in the process of rectifying shortcomings as we speak. He's probably going to win 20 games with this roster. Imagine what he will do next year with a well crafted roster. I would've preferred these things had been in place last March but now DD knows exactly what to go get and the people are being put in place to get the job done.

  15. Wonder if at a Purdue game, the refs say to the coaches pregame: "As you know each player gets five fouls. Except for No. 4 -- we're gonna give him 10."

  16. I think he probably got hammered after he went home, and saying it was tough "on the verge of a big win" meant he was craving it as the game neared the end but knew he wouldn't get to drink. In any event, glad we're not dealing with this. IU basketball creates enough problems on its own.

  17. Yep. Win a football title at Indiana and become bullet proof. I really want basketball to be better, but he could burn it to the ground and put out the ashes with raw sewage from West Lafayette and it wouldn’t matter.

  22. The more I look back on this game, it's amazing how devastating this actually was for Miami. The Mighty U was playing great. All their Hall of Fame former players and celeb fans were on the sideline. Playing Indiana -- who cares how good they're supposed to be, it's Indiana. The game is in their home stadium in their city. It was all coming together. Then IU fans take over with 2/3 the crowd -- that's emasculating. After zero points in the first half, Miami threw some decent counterpunches, but they got handled and lost. It was not in fact "About the U." It was All About the Hoo-Hoo-Hoosiers. Incredible. That really was a tough situation for us, and we played just "okay" and won.

  32. I think the Purdue model is likely the ideal plan for Carr and DeVries. For that to work, you gotta scout, develop, and coach your @$$ off. Painter has proven proficient at all 3. I don’t hate it. I kinda like it. But DeVries isn’t Painter and we are Indiana and should be able to double the NIL of Purdue allowing us to build something a little different. Hopefully these smart basketball minds can come together and figure things out. You need 10. 8 Healthy and ready to go. Invest in 8-10 and fill with super low cost back end pieces. It’ll help in team chemistry as well with every player having a piece of the pie. Even though Carr has my dream job and has 25 years of experience I’m still auditioning for the part and convinced I can help. lol.

  33. Duke fans just can't help but be pretentious. It's in their nature. To be (somewhat) fair, rumor is that Duke wanted him but only for '27. If he was 100% set on reclass it was us or Louisville. Either way, very excited to have him aboard!

  38. Agree Reneau would be a huge help offensively, but he wouldn't do much for our defense / rebounding problems. Think about TJD or even Kel'el Ware under Devries on this roster... that would be a fun team.

  40. Here we are with IUs first must win game if they are not wanting to use Phase 3(Conference tourney) to build their resume to get selected. Inability to win home games against bottom of the bracket seeded team(Iowa ) and no tourney team(Northwestern) has made this game against (Sparty) a top of the bracket seeded team as a must have game. Also will need Minny and @Ohio St but need this first. Winning this would give them 4 wins against the projected field with 2 of those wins coming against protected seeds. Not sure how many bubble teams will be able to say that. Roll the dice and see how Sunday goes

  44. For sure. I don't have any reason to think CDD doesn't want to succeed here. I think if Dolson feels this is a necessary action to move the program forward, I would venture to guess CDD is on board with it. I just think maybe he wasn't prepared for how big the job is here...how much pressure, maybe the landscape of the B1G, or even that it wouldnt be easier to recruit to IU. All guesses. Hopefully Carr is the answer, and the ship gets turned around.

  45. It is encouraging that Dolson has immediately recognized a problem, and that 2/3 of the way through season one, he has taken a real step to change the narrative. Carr makes the salient point that this year's team has had basically the exact same roster building strategy that Woodson used, and that it is largely a losing strategy.
