    2025 IUFB Season

Two more games for Louis, which is good. Of course we want him cleared all season, but kicking the can down the road with the same chance to get him cleared all season is a win. Louis Moore will be eligible for the next two games as both sides agreed to move the September 10th hearing to September 24th. (IDS)

  6. From an Illinois website: Quinton Kitt scouting report MATT DAYHOFF/JOURNAL STAR / USA TODAY NETWORK via Imagn Images Kitt’s premier skill is spot-up shooting. On the catch, he has great balance, a high release point, smooth mechanics and finds nylon at a solid clip. He also has a go-to fadeaway in the post, where his size and length allow him to get off his shot with ease. Not an ultra-twitchy athlete, Kitt isn’t exactly a high flyer or blow-by threat – at least not yet. But he still has driving ability, particularly against closeouts. Given his ability from beyond the arc, defenders often fly out to the perimeter to chase Kitt off the line, and he does a stellar job of attacking the basket in those situations, usually getting all the way to the rim (although he also has shown a floater). An underrated passer, Kitt has shown his basketball IQ in AAU competition with Chicago powerhouse MeanStreets. Many players are willing to make the extra pass, but Kitt does so without hesitation, allowing his teammates to get open looks while the defense is stuck in rotation. Also active on the offensive glass, Kitt crashes well from the weak side and tends to convert at a high rate on putbacks – or wind up at the charity stripe.

    2025 IUFB Season

Just like last year, the press didn't believe what we were doing. It just adds fuel to the chip in that locker room. I'm all for it. Plus, we'll get our chances to change the entire narrative. We play 3 schools in top 10.

Yeah, I’m not worried about the ranking stuff outside of the atmosphere it can help bring to our only decent conference home game. I’ll never forget the day of the Washington game from sunrise to the final whistle as long as I live. I want Gameday again.

A lot of tickets were bought for the remaining conference games over the past week -- two more sell-outs just announced and Wisky (the last game of the year) is close. I know some were disappointed in the non-con crowds, but this is really unprecedented levels of ticket sales, especially with the higher prices this year and we don't have any marquee names coming to town (though yes Illinois is a huge game). This is good stuff!!!

  15. Ya never know how a first choice program can melt down. If the coach gets arrested and fired it’s good to know about your other choices. Unless you’re Price Alex Moody or Latrell Allmond. Then it’s IU and only IU.

  26. Welcome back to 2017/2018 IU Soccer as a legit national contender as one of the top 5 squads in the country. It's been too long. This Notre Dame game is a bellwether for how serious the Hoosiers are about getting back to the College Cup and maybe winning a title without divine intervention like in 2022. Test past! Getting back to Cary, N.C., for another College Cup will very likely be attempted the easy way, with at least two home games, if not three, and likely only one heavyweight battle coming in the Elite Eight. Doesn't mean you get that far, as happened in 2019. However, they will almost certainly get two home games in the Round of 32 and the Sweet 16, where they are the clear favorites. Similar to 2017, where 2016 saw longtime veterans gone, and the season was basically a birthday present waiting to be unwrapped. 2025, after 2024, is similar, with the talent of new players coming in vs. ones departed taking the squad to a whole new level from solid to elite. In 2017, it was Trey Muse, Mason Toye, Griffin Dorsey, and Justin Rennicks replacing Colin Webb, Grant Lillard, Richard Ballard, and Tanner Thompson, to go with veterans coming into their own in Andrew Gutman and Francesco Moore, among others. It's not that the losses are not big. It's just the replacements are even better and move the team to a whole new tier. Similarly, now in 2025, you lost JT Harms, Tommy Mihalic, Samuel Sarver, and Patrick McDonald. However, the veterans are coming into their own in Collins Oduro, Josh Maher, and Alex Barger, with newcomers in Palmer Ault, Jacopo Fedrizzi, and Colton Swan being even better than their predecessors, unlocking a whole new level not seen in several seasons.

According to CBS Sports Research, Week 1 marked the first time a Daniel Jones-led team scored on every first-half drive in his 70 NFL starts. The Colts would go on to score on every single drive -- becoming the first team since at least 2000, regular season or postseason, to score on every possession.

  28. My view to take or leave. Most of this will come as no surprise. 1) Generally speaking, we have almost no football culture at IU beyond tailgating. For most fans lifetimes, we've been terrible. Why we have been so bad would be another topic we can table for now. As a result, our football fanbase is very small and few people have a tradition of going to home openers or games at all. A lot of IU people I talk to still don't believe what's happening is sustainable. They'll say it's a fluke, etc. Everyone still mostly talks about basketball -- look at our forums. And I'm not blaming anyone, people like what they like. It takes time to establish a tradition. When the Colts got good with Peyton, it took a few years to generate serious ticket demand. In 1999, I remember 20K Titans fans in the RCA Dome for a playoff game the year we had a home bye (13-3 record!). Message board posters are tuned in to what's happening, but a lot of regular IU fans still are not, and big crowds require getting regular IU fans involved. 2) IU increased the ticket prices pretty significantly this season. IMO, that's fine for the conference games, but not the cupcakes. $62 was the cheapest ticket available public ticket from IU for the non-con games. That's just mispriced and way too high to get newcomers involved -- $124 for two or $250 for a family of four, plus parking, to see bad opponents. Bad value. A lot of not-really FB schools getting better cupcake attendance are pricing tickets at $20 or less or doing two for ones (ASU, Illinois, etc.). 3) I don't think we market very well or do a good job directly reaching out to alumni and potential ticket buyers and making it very easy to buy tickets. I'll just leave it at that. 4) Some bright spots? Season tickets are up 50%. The conference slate is not a great one, no marquee opponents, but Illinois sold out five weeks ago and barring a collapse the rest of those games will too (MSU/ULCA are 93% sold, Wisky 87% sold). Those are not cheap tickets either. Also we secured a field sponsor and suite sponsor. Corporate interest in increasing, which is great. At the end of the day, I wish we were further along with fan support, and it does annoy me (that's a me problem admittedly). But, when I think about it, I can see why things are the way they are. Another good season I think we'll get another nice increase in fan interest.

Wow, how pi$$ed are some folks gonna be if it turns out that: 1) you can win with Daniel Jones, and 2) Chris Ballard built a competitive roster?

  32. He’s not going to carry the load on a winning B1G program out of the gate. Rippey maybe could. Maybe. Boogie Fland is last years example of how hard it is to be a winning Freshman starting guard. And Boogie is REALLY good.

  34. 2025 Indiana is preseason ranked, has legitimate expectations, a reloaded roster, and the attention of everyone that isn't simply looking for clicks. 2024 Indiana was almost universally picked bottom three (two? one?) in the Big Ten, was coming off a trainwreck couple of seasons not to mention a century+ of suck, a new coach talking a bunch of s**t and getting laughed at for it, and a roster full of overlooked G5 guys. And then went out and busted everybody's ass with the only exceptions being the two teams that played for the title. There will never be another 2024 Indiana.
