Alford Bailey Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 Crazy a guy we had on the sidelines just coached in the championship game and now will be the coach at Alabama! Quote
Hovadipo Posted January 12, 2024 Author Posted January 12, 2024 Underrated aspect of Deboer's hiring: The strength staff in place at Bama is Ballou's staff that Deboer worked with here in 2019. I think there's 3 guys still there (Ballou, Constantine, Danison, who was a late add after going to MSU) that left from here. About as elite of a S&C staff as you can have in place assuming he keeps them, and I can't fathom why he wouldn't. MemphisHoosier and LIHoosier 2 Quote

LamarCheeks Posted January 12, 2024 Posted January 12, 2024 Easy to root for DeBoer at UW -- at least for me. It's a program that was once was on the precipice of college football bluebloodship that had sorta fallen on hard times. He helped get it turned around. And IMO, there's no real reason to dislike the Huskies. Plus, there was Penix. Always liked Mike. But at 'Bama? That'll be a hard sell for me. If DeBoer does a 2019 redux and the K and K attack is back, I might root for them. Kane is making 800K as S Alabama head coach. Bama can double that for a DC and Kane can make an easier climb to a power conference HC job taking that route. J34 1 Quote

Whether or not he’d get it, I’m not sure, but I do bet Kane was hoping Lane would head to Bama. Quote

Hovadipo Posted January 15, 2024 Author Posted January 15, 2024 Jedd Fisch to Washington really bones our “Washington falling off post-Deboer” hopes. That’s a huge pull. Quote
Demo Posted January 15, 2024 Posted January 15, 2024 https://www.espn.com/college-sports/story/_/id/39314907/ohio-state-targeting-ross-bjork-athletic-director So, OSU’s new AD is the guy who gave Jimbo Fisher the mother of all terrible extensions and then got straight publicly bullied out of hiring his 1st choice to replace him. Wonder if Inge will follow Deboer to Bama as well, he was our Special Teams Coordinator in 2019 and was a name floated as DC for Bama. That 2019 staff was Elite. thebigweave, MemphisHoosier and lillurk 3 Quote
