Should be noted that Boise State gets a bye but all of the quarterfinals and onward are at actual bowls.

Yep,

If/when IU beats ND the next game, vs Georgia, will be at the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, on New Years Day.

I live about 2 hrs from S. Bend, but no way in hell I'm paying that kind of money to watch a game in enemy territory!

Apparently it’s the season ticket holder’s seats, sounds like ND hasn’t publicly released the tickets yet, they should bring them down

Does anybody know how first round games work?  like a regular season game with limited visitor tickets?  Also, how is revenue split? just between playoff teams?  If not the teams with byes are screwed on the revenue side unless they get a bigger chunk from the "bowl"they are in?

I think prices will go down but with fees included, on Stubhub, the cheapest tickets along the sidelines, 10 yardline to 10 yardline, are $2,950 each.

So two tickets, two flights, rental car, hotel, food-booze would put me out over $9,000 to sit outside at night, in South Bend in late December…….. The game is going to be GREAT on my big screen.

Ticket prices are absolutely ridiculous and SO much more than for any of the other CFB playoff games. Think I saw PSU/SMU is like $200 to get in. I’d pay $1k or a little above per ticket given how rare this is but there’s no way I’m shelling out 3x that per ticket.

And OSU/TN has tickets on the 10 yard line for $522 including fees.

Similar seats at ND are $2,750 but I’ll bet those will go down quite a bit…maybe

CFP gets all ticket revenue and distributes it to conferences. They’ll be pretty much regular home games with a few subtle differences.

There’s several warm beaches to watch these games and celebrate for a week win or loose vs attending these games in person.

Somebody lied to you.  It's freezing at the beaches!

I'm enjoying reading the articles of 'Bama crying like little *******. Apparently, they're blaming their non-conference schedule since their solution is to change how they schedule that. A few things:

  • Their non-con schedule wasn't very tough
  • All 3 losses were in conference
  • They lost to 2 6-6 teams
  • They got blown out late in the season against one of those 6-6 teams

They will never understand or agree with this but it’s very simple.

If Bama would have won their second to last game, against a team they were favored by OVER 20 points, they would be in the playoff. Instead they lost by 24-3 and clearly don’t belong.

It’s really that simple. Beat a crappy OU and they would be in but they got smoked.

EDIT: I checked Bama’s schedule to see if maybe the bad Oklahoma loss was after a tough game but…..prior to the Oklahoma debacle Bama hosted Mercer…LOL

Their last three games were vs mighty Mercer, crappy Oklahoma and against sh!tty Auburn.  What a gauntlet.

PSU has to be thrilled with their draw.

They play SMU in Happy Valley and would then play Boise State at the Feista Bowl in Phoenix. It would be hard to get an easier (but not easy)route.
