Thought they would keep Seth Curry over Yogi since they don't have a lot of shooters but do have a lot of ball handlers. However, Cuban really likes Yogi so picked him over the two. I'm glad to see him stick around another year or two here! mamasa, Class of '66 Old Fart, Hoosier Roots and 1 other 4 Quote
Crimson and Cream Posted July 15, 2018 Posted July 15, 2018 He needs to get out of Dallas unless they offer him a legit deal, they have way too many point guards. Hoosiers96 and IUfan_Charlie 2 Quote

BH33 Posted July 20, 2018 Posted July 20, 2018 Yogi is not signing the deal with Dallas. I'm guessing another team is coming with a higher offer. HoosierDYT Posted July 20, 2018 Posted July 20, 2018 I thought 5.3 was a little too low as well. In the right market he could probably make double that Quote
Dalton26 Posted July 20, 2018 Posted July 20, 2018 I bet it’s more to do with opportunity than money. They’ve got too many ball handlers for him to really get a legit shot imo. Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners WayneFleekHoosier, Class of '66 Old Fart and IUsafety 3 Quote

I think he was pissed that by doing that the Mavs didn't guarantee his second year. Basically, Mavs got the best of both worlds in this situation. If Yogi was going to take less they should have made a concession and given him 2 guaranteed years. Otherwise, they could just cut him after this year and lose nothing. Diadem 1 Quote

TXHoosierDaddy Posted July 21, 2018 Posted July 21, 2018 Yogi ended up doing better than what Dallas was offering - great for him. It does suck he is going to a disfunctional franchise that has a lot of guards but at least he is getting $$$. Quote

He would have been the backup to Doncic. The plan was to move Dennis Smith to SG so I don't think the PT changes much although probably a little more backing up Fox. Quote

I read they were planning on using him as the backup SG (I'm assuming Barea as the backup pg) and it seems like that was a big deal to him. They also just drafted Brunson who could play now. Quote
Popular Post schoosier Posted July 23, 2018 Popular Post Posted July 23, 2018 6.2 guaranteed for 2 years and he will be 27 when he becomes another free agent and hopefully, get more $. I am so happy for him and his family and mother who posted here. He had a couple slip ups off the court as probably many of us, but he has achieved this dream thru hard work and perseverance. Congratulations Yogi, another IU legend. SlamaJamaSisley, IUsafety, WayneFleekHoosier and 10 others 13 Quote
