Ostrom and Archie started out today at Fort Wayne north side, then were suppose to stop by La Lumiere, South Bend Riley, and then center grove, and end day at new Albany.

Inside Out. Lock it down

Fall recruiting period runs September 9- November 5

One thing that stands out to me about Archie. He's a basketball nut. I'm guessing he enjoys recruiting more than your average CBB coach.

Plus he's young. Things are looking up.

This is one of the big reasons why I'm glad the Billy Donovan pipe dream didn't work out. Archie's hungry and is going to bring nonstop energy. He's going to simply outwork a lot of coaches.

I'm not as concerned as many are if this ends up being a 7 person class. From everything I've heard and read, Arch has a plan and he's sticking to it. He knows what type of players he's looking for and what those roles will be. This is far from the shotgun recruiting approach we have seen in the past.

He is bringing in a foundation class to build on over the coming years. Also, the chance that all 7 players end up leaving at the same time is pretty slim. There's a good chance one or two of the players already committed blows up and leaves after 2-3 years. If we hold the remaining scholarships for 1-2 year guys, it all works out.

So far Archie has 5 guys recruited and crazily enough they could all be on the floor together.  Not sure I know what to do with this kind of balance.

Phinisee

Anderson

Hunter

Thompson

Forrester

A solid core that should keep us from having the horrible dips

Totally agree but hunter will be a 2 before Anderson. Coach Miller already talked about using hunter as a big NBA type guard.

This is a big reason FCTC was fired and CAM was hired. I believe we'll see capable players 1-12/3 that can contribute. If we're able to pull top 150 or 100 talent that is willing to wait their turn while pushing those in front of them we'll be in good shape. I would love to see a Wiscy type run where we don't finish outside the top 4 in the B1G and compete at a national title contender level.

I'm not overly concerned either.  He has 6 FCTC kids as freshmen and sophomores.  While I don't want to see 'Creaning' become a thing with Archie I think he wants the roster filled with his type of kids ASAP.  He was blunt with Gelon and had not MSB been entering his senior season, I believe he would likely have been given the same message.  At the end of this season, I think there could be 1 or 2 who receive the same message if their abilities and skills don't mesh with Archie's philosophy.

He HAD to add that part about the class not containing a superstar didn't he?

Honestly that was such a cookie cutter, bland "article". Read like Meyer was forced to write it. No respect for that guy.
