Popular Post rebelhoosier848891 Posted April 9, 2016 Popular Post Posted April 9, 2016 Walk-On Harrison Niego is moving on as he is hoping to earn a D1 scholly at another school. I think this is a good decision by him as our guard situation is about to get crowded and competitive with scholarship players. Let's let him know we appreciated all his effort and hard work during his time as a Hoosier. He helped us get through all the injuries and gave us some valuable minutes. He is worthy of a separate appreciation thread! LIHoosier, IUsafety, Class of '66 Old Fart and 11 others 14 Quote
X-Hoosier Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Exactly what he should be doing. Exactly what Crean should be trying to do for preferred walk ons. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using BtownBanners mobile app Class of '66 Old Fart, IU Hoosier41 and Bobman1 3 Quote

HoosierReb01 Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Best of luck to him, and hope he does well. He got to walkon at IU and I hope that was a great life long experience for him. Hopefully, he'll get picked up by a team where he can get the schollie and the playing time. Best wishes Niego. IUsafety and Class of '66 Old Fart 2 Quote
LockdownD Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Good luck, Harrison. Your time on the court may have been short, but your contribution was appreciated. Clearly, you knew your role and executed to the best of your ability. Thank you for wearing the candy stripes. Crimson and Cream, Class of '66 Old Fart and IUsafety 3 Quote

Harrison will have a very positive influence on all the folks he comes in contact with through out the rest of his life. I'm personally a little disappointed that he will not be wearing the candy stripes, yet stoked for what is ahead for this fine young gentleman. Thanks for the spark that you have brought to this team Harrison! LockdownD, Bobman1, jtheo66 and 2 others 5 Quote
Leo Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 His energy on D in the Iowa game in Assembly showed me how great of a player he is. Definitely played his heart out. Iufan2324 Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 Anyone think this was the plan all along for him? It's a win-win for crean and niego. We didn't have a backup point guard and was insurance for crean and niego gets the exposure of a bluebood program and can test the waters when the season ends? Whatever the reason happy for niego as he should have no trouble finding a mid major school that wants him Quote
scots07 Posted April 9, 2016 Posted April 9, 2016 I wish all the best for Harrison. He epitomizes what hard work and dedication does for a team. He will be fondly remembered as an integral part of a great team. HoosierAloha, Class of '66 Old Fart and IUsafety 3 Quote

MartintheMopMan Posted April 10, 2016 Posted April 10, 2016 Harrison, I'm not gonna lie, when you lined up at the scorers table against Wisconsin, I was yelling at my TV that Crean was crazy. I doubt I'm alone either. You proved me wrong though, you rocked it and gave us your all. I will happily eat this crow because I'm proud to have you wear the candy stripes. Go get 'em Niego. BburgHoosier Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 Best of luck, where ever you may find a new home. You are a player that Hoosier fans will follow and root for in your new basketball home. Your decision to become a Hoosier paid off in serious contributions to a Big Ten Championship season. Thank you Harrison. Class of '66 Old Fart, ALASKA HOOSIER and IUsafety 3 Quote
incrediboy Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 Sorry to see you go, Mr. N., but you deserve to play more and with RoJo, Blackmon, Jones, Newkirk, Green and Gelon (not to mention Morgan's work at the point and Troy possibly returning too) your playing time as a Hoosier would have required a lot of issues/injuries. So if you want playing time and a scholarship -- both of which you proved you deserved in your freshman year -- moving on makes sense. Hoosier Nation loved you when you were here, and we'll be cheering for you wherever you go (at least until we meet up with you in the NCAA Tournament). ALASKA HOOSIER and IUsafety 2 Quote
