2016 (F) Freddie McSwain Jr. to IU

Recommended Posts

I hope, but we are expecting McSwain, a relatively unheralded Juco, to play like a borderline 1st round draft pick.

Idk. Won't be better than good Troy but likely far better than bad Troy.

Hoping for another OG type athlete. Fingers are crossed. Love his athleticism. Built like he could be a better defender.

I like Troy on the team, but unfortunately for him, he's not a borderline first round pick. He's borderline for the whole damn draft.

This made me laugh.  not sure if unintentional or not.  Godlike and Goodluck.  pretty funny.

I didn't even realize it until I read your post. For someone reason my computer wanted to autocorrect Goodluck to "Godlike" hahaha. Maybe thats what Goodluck will name his firstborn

Just like when Blackmon went down people  were saying we couldn't replace 16 ppg. I said all we need is a guy to score 8 ppg. and play defense. Along comes OG and we got better. If McSwain can score 8 ppg. play defense and not commit the stupid 3-4 turnovers a game we will net ahead.

Wish I could like this post more than once. With all Troys heroics I felt like half the time it was Bad Troy who caused the need.

Recruit Q&A: Freddie McSwain Jr.

Nice article:

"What kind of impact do you think you can have at a Division I program next year?

As a player you’ve got to have confidence, so I think I can make a big impact wherever I go. The way I can help is with my rebounding, my defense and my athleticism. I’m improving my game more and more. With my scoring and rebounding and playing fast, I feel I can help any team."

Didn't start playing organized basketball until his junior year in high school. And didn't shoot much. Possibly explains his juco route.

Hmmmm. I know another great athlete that did not start playing basketball until about his junior year----Michael Jordan.  Now---I am not saying there is any comparison but that sure worked out pretty well for him. Here's to hoping if we get McSwain he's a diamond in the rough!

Jordan played before his junior year but was cut from the team as a freshman, I believe.
