Yogi's Picnic Basket Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Don't kill the messenger or think since I have never posted on here that I'm just starting a drama thread. I have followed this site for years just didn't know you could post without actually paying. Peegs, iuhoosiers, and even insidethehall all do. To get to the point of the reason why is because I'm from Wabash, but work in Marion and Blackmon's aunt works at Cafe Valley with me. I usually never say much to her, but today I asked her about James recovery. I don't know if they are even close or if she would actually know, but she said that he is going to ready for next year, but he won't be playing yet again because he is transferring. I laughed and she didn't think it was funny lol. I asked sarcastly why and she wouldn't say, but said the papers are signed and it will be announced the day after the season closes. Idk if it is true but she sounded positive. My question was why leave IU w the success we had this year and being the number one scoring option next year and to sit out a whole nother year? She insisted to tell me to wait and see and walked away. Quote
MadAboutIndiana Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Well that would not be good. That would really suck actually Quote
Stuhoo Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Not the first time the rumor has been posted on one of the IU message boards. We shall see! Quote
Trish Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Not the first time the rumor has been posted on one of the IU message boards. We shall see! This season? Where else Quote
Yogi's Picnic Basket Posted March 12, 2016 Author Posted March 12, 2016 How can papers be signed already though and not get mentioned? That's the only part that doesn't make sense? Other than that I don't get it one bit unless something serious happened. He wants to play in the NBA but is willing to sit another year just to play a game again. Yogi is leaving so he would be our best scorer. It just don't make sense hopefully someone can shoot this down. Quote
Trish Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Well maybe Crean wants him to stick around the team right now so Hoosier nation doesn't freak out. Quote
8bucks Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Did we ever hear what his injury was? I always thought it might be possible if his rehab carries into the BT regular season. But then thought he would have done that mid year to get the benefit of a shorter sit out period Quote

He could have done the Luke Fischer transfer and played next season. Also, IU paying all those medical bills then he is going to bolt? Idk. I can kind of see it but it seems it would have been a mid season move if so. I know Mom a bit. Not well enough to ask her though. lillurk 1 Quote
Old Friend Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 We have been far better without him. He either needs to step up his game and decide defense is important, or transfer. He can score a little; but I haven't seen anything to indicate we'd miss him next season. He was a complete defensive liability. Parakeet Jones and Walking Boot of Doom 2 Quote

Now that may be an actual issue... Blackmon has game. He'll guard well enough to get himself picked up. Gonna be some competition at the guard spot next year... For the first time in the Crean era? Class of '66 Old Fart Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 To me, a transfer elsewhere only makes sense if the rehab hasn't gone well and it's clear he's not going to be able to physically play at the same level. And for the record, I'm now over 2,000 posts and still haven't received my commemorative t-shirt for my 1,000th post!! :P IUsafety, HoosierReb01 and mdn82 3 Quote

Alford Bailey Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Wouldnt really surprise me. Didnt seem to me like he fit this team very well. We shall see.... Quote
TheWatShot Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 Is it that time of year again? Didn't we have a poster show up last year about this time and say that Blackmon wanted to transfer and he had text messages to prove it? Walking Boot of Doom, IUsafety, djsalway and 2 others 5 Quote
TheWatShot Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 I usually never say much to her, but today I asked her about James recovery. I'm guessing you asked her at work, right? Well, I googled Cafe Valley in Marion and it said it's closed today. hoosha61 1 Quote
Yogi's Picnic Basket Posted March 12, 2016 Author Posted March 12, 2016 I actually had an account years ago, but stopped checking this site cause I had a Peegs account. Trust me I have no reason to lie. If you want to look me up on Facebook to see I'm a legit fan go for it. Kris Shankle. Wabash, IN. I have nothing to hide and you really googled Cafe Valley that's a bit crazy, but yes we are closed FOR business on the weekends. It is a factory mainly we make and sell bread, cakes, and plenty other things.I heard about Reggie Jones another local kid decommitting from New Orleans pretty much right after he committed. Basketball is literally all this town talks about. No one has to believe me, but if I was making it up why would I question it? I was just saying what I heard. mamasa, Defenserocks28 and Crimson and Cream 3 Quote

And the Google never lies! LIAR! ;) Seriously, i can't argue whether you are telling the truth or not but I have no reason to say otherwise. Welcome to the board!!! ALASKA HOOSIER and mamasa 2 Quote
Yogi's Picnic Basket Posted March 12, 2016 Author Posted March 12, 2016 I didn't say it was happening, just what I heard if I thought it was set it stone I wouldn't have questioned it or even came to this board to begin with, with the info. His family is all over this town and they ALL have stories. Just like Zach Randolph everyone here is his cousin lol. Sorry, but it did come from his aunt and I actually hope it isn't true nor does it even make sense. Thanks for the welcome to posting. I'm sure if mods can look up by name you will see I've been a member plenty other times just don't post enough to remember my info. I just don't care to post often cause I have a busy schedule and a son who most of my attention goes to. Some people take being an avid poster way to serious. It just means you get on a website more than someone else not that your a bigger fan lol. Sorry for the hostile post I guess we will wait and see if it is true and like I have stated plenty I hope it isn't. No I don't have a ESPN source either just his aunt that I work with who could or couldn't be lying. If anyone cares to share info about if they have heard different or the same that'd be appreciated and the main point of this post. VO5 Posted March 12, 2016 Posted March 12, 2016 The info is appreciated. We'll see how it all plays out, but I really hope he stays and comes back hungrier than ever. Yogi's Picnic Basket and ALASKA HOOSIER 2 Quote
