I believe Garland mentioned he will be committing during the signing period. Rabjohns has reported for some time that the plan was around November 13th but not set in stone. In his video interview he said he wanted to decide before his high school season starts(November 14th). Early signing is November 8-15. Start money would be during that week. I happened to look at some people getting out of their vehicle parked in a spot on the street, and it just happened to be Darius and his family. I went right up to Darius and said “You’re Darius, right?”, and he smiled and nodded. I shook his hand and said “well thank you for coming and we’re very excited that you’re here.” He smiled and said thank you and then I walked off. I turned to one of my brothers and said “that was Darius Garland! He’s one of the top recruits we are trying to get!” He laughed and was in awe that I noticed him and knew who he was. (He’s not nearly as obsessed with IU b-ball as I am, haha). Anyways, you can thank me for that moment with Darius as the tipping point that made him fall in love with the place, hahaha, just kidding.
