pumpfake Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 A lot of comparisons in the importance of getting Zeller v.s. Langford. IMO, Romeo is more important because I think he can have a bigger impact. I just hope he sees that the situation will be perfect for him to come to IU - he won't get anywhere near the opportunity and exposure anywhere else. colonel06, Iugradman, ALASKA HOOSIER and 3 others 6 Quote

A mere two hours later IU fans are trolling Drew for losing a close one to a similarly ranked Kentucky at Rupp. This schadenfreude schtick is getting a little old. I've got to believe that it's more than just Schadenfreude (though Bozich's posts absolutely read as consistent Schaudenfreude). I wonder what his motivation is? His dad, Rick Bozich is THE veteran sports/basketball reporter for the Courier Journal right next to New Albany, so it is overwhelmingly likely that Alex has far more of a handle on the situation than almost anyone. I don't see Bozich trolling Kansas based on what he's hearing about their behavior in the Romeo sweepstakes. There's ample material to take the occasional Billy Preston/Lamborghini shot, for instance. It's stating the obvious to constantly remark on Drew's/Vandy's lack of results this year, and Alex doesn't give this treatment to any other program. Find it unlikely that Bozich is putting this stuff out there in an attempt to influence Romeo; I seriously doubt he's got the Langford family's attention in that way. Finally, if anything, Alex Bozich/ITH has a general reputation of being on the softball side of things over the years; not on this one! WayneFleekHoosier, LIHoosier, Jam and 2 others 5 Quote

Certainly wouldn't read a conclusion like that into it. However, I think it's reasonable to read into it that Bozich thinks that Vandy is either not playing within the rules, not telling the Langfords the truth, or is recruiting with some undue rumor and negativity toward IU. That's my read. He is an IU fan. But I've never known or seen him make a dig at another program, just because he's simply worried IU may lose out on a recruit. It sounds like he knows or doesn't like how they approach recruiting. If the rumor is true that he has told reporters privately they are the leaders that's pretty unethical. My guess is he believes (knows) Vandy is shady and is putting it out there in a different manner than normal. He's also thrown jabs at L$U. It's possible he may have some distrust of Bryce for that reason. But something tells me he knows something. The whole Vanderbilt/Garland recruitment has been a bizarre fiasco. HoosierMatty Posted January 31, 2018 Posted January 31, 2018 The only person who has really pushed the package deal we are best friends is Garland. Romeo has never said they were a package deal. If just seems like the media has run with that since Romeo has looked at the same schools. It's really hard to know what Romeo thinks because he isn't one for the spot light. Garland seems to be the one who does most the talking.Sent from my SM-G935T using BtownBanners mobile app Iugradman and ALASKA HOOSIER 2 Quote
