I don't think UNC or KU would waste their time if they think they have no shot. They are in on too many 5* guys just to waste their time. Vandy I agree with. It can only help the program to show they are getting close to landing the big fish. My guess is Romeo still is telling all of them they have a shot and as long as they hear that they believe there is one.

It's encouraging but the bottom line is no one truly knows. Recruits change their minds all the time. It's possible these guys have gone back and forth a bunch as well.

Very much a surprise. I have thought the whole time that UNC was solidly in 2nd place with him. So I'm going with Hoosier Guy has been saying they have been a package deal the whole time.

Yogi was the first that said that though. I can’t take too much credit. But there was definitely a reason they visited Vanderbilt and IU together

If this package deal does play out, that's got to (at least I hope) be good news for IU. There is no way Vandy made the impact on Langford that IU made on Garland. There's just literally zero reason for Langford to go to Vandy, but there are numerous reasons for Garland to go to IU.

Agree everything I read all pointed towards Unc except for Vandy rivals site which said they were in better shape when Romeo then everyone thought.

Not from me either. What else could we possibly do? Can't be mad at a recruitment like this. If we aren't able to land the big Indiana fish for multiple years and a trend begins then I'll get grumpy.

I will admit that NONE of my "sources" had Vandy in the mix to actually get Romeo so this is news to me. I will say when he announces his top 3 we coukd see how close Snow is to the situation. Most of my guys are IU guys and my NA connection has been MIA but regardless, this could mean Snow is closer than anyone or not at all and I believe it is closer. Snow doesn't post stuff he don't trust. I had IU and UNC with KU and Vandy just fighting to be the 3rd team. I know people are gonna freak out with this but I KNOW though not official, Darius and Romeo would very much like to play together. I have said that all along and my stance has only strengthened. If Garland does go to Vandy, key word does and Snow is right I wouldn't rule out Romeo and Vandy completely. I would actually be worried if that happened. We are still the favorites but things can change quick and I believe Vandy has picked up steam w Romeo as a result of Darius seriously being torn. If he is really considering them, Romeo likely doesn't have Vandy in his top 2 or 3 whatever it is.

If we do lose out on both I will give Archie credit just for making it this far with them and being seen as a favorite at one time. It will hurt because we have been the favorites but Archie has done a A+ plus job with maybe even a little extra credit/gold star on his report card.

How much crap I took for saying they would end up being a package deal and now it looks like it is really the case but not 100% IU has backfired on me. I said that with the intention of IU being the only school seriously considered by both.

To me, it doesn’t make sense for Romeo to go to Vanderbilt. If he’s planning on being OAD, why go to Vanderbilt? There’s not going to be many games on tv so not great exposure. I could understand if he was getting a degree. It’s A great academic school. I think it’s either both at IU or garland and Romeo going to their state school.
