Its mostly one person who constantly says he is vandys and he has no inside knowledge. Its almost as if he wants him to go to vandy.

And multiple others who only talk about how dirty Romeo and Drew are with no sources

Reading through this thread the last few days, I have to say....we have a whole lot of people who love to speculate.  Lots of odd guesses.  Some who think they know what AND why.  Some reasoned opinions.   And some clearly fabricated crap.   An impressive display!

What we do NOT have is anyone who knows anything.  Hell, boys...James Blackmon said he changed his mind 3 times walking on to the stage.  What makes anyone think he knows what Romeo's going to do?  Let alone WHY he's going to do it.  He'll go where he feels most comfortable.  Indiana is on the upswing, and he knows that.  The current team has very little talent, but it has some..and more coming.  Plus an experienced team coming back and a true point guard who he knows very well.   I have no idea why anyone would want to play basketball at Vanderbilt, simply because I hate where the teams have to sit there.  But Romeo will go where he can enjoy his college experience; work on his game; and where he feels like the best fit.  And none of us know that.  I would bet HE doesn't know yet.

For instance; Romeo attended the Northwestern game.

Yeah and we have the bad performances when he has a game so he doesn't see it. We can send a game summary describing how we would have won if we had a scoring guard. Strategy.

Whether we won or lost is completely immaterial most of the time, as is how a kid would fit on this team.  He will never play on this team.   Recruits want to know how THEY will fit.  How THEY will be used.  What THEIR role is.  This team has 5 seniors on it, 4 of whom play major minutes.   Winning or losing a game this season matters almost zero to a kid who's getting even decent advice.   Recruitment of Romeo Langford is how he will be utilized within an offense and defense; and how he will help himself grow as a player.

All of ^^this^^, and also sitting behind the bench and experiencing how the coaching staff (esp Archie) interacts with the team during games is important.

Not only attended the game but came with a friend and not his parents. Practicing making that drive by himself to get ready for next year? I have no idea where he is going to go but I did hear some good info for IU if it's real. I somewhat believe it but it was 2nd hand.

Yes.
For instance; as Romeo sat behind the IU bench for the NU game, he was next to his potential point guard, Rob Phinisee. He is very, very well aware about the entirety of how it would be to play alongside Rob Phinsee.
THEN, as the game got going, he witnessed first hand how Archie responded to his team having a mediocre start, and how that team responded. Archie has the confidence to let recruits see him up close and personal. So did FCTC, and that was NOT helpful. Romeo is doing absolute due diligence. He gets the chance to truly understand what Archie is like, and I'm guessing that is helpful.

Wonderful insight here, fellas.

Each school has a main argument for how it benefits Romeo to play there. The aspect of coaching is obviously a major player in the recruitment as well. But more often than not we tend to focus on the obvious factors.

If I were a recruit in his position, I'd probably approach this the same as Romeo. "Absolute due diligence" is exactly right, and to me it says he plans to take his year of collegiate basketball very seriously. And, maybe he's made his choice and is taking some time now to reaffirm it. Your most important decisions are often made after scouring the details. He's getting a small sense of how it will feel once the pieces are together. It's one thing to hear and imagine how the pieces will fit. It's another get a feel for it, and that starts with the interaction between individuals. Really liking the fact he was there the same night as RP. I'm sure they're in contact with one another once in awhile. That might make Garland a bit jelly, based on his recent comments.

But for real, my 5 year old just told me he wishes he can play basketball someday, so.... I'm out!

ESPN Insider has a new article predicting where the remaining 2018 5 Stars will commit to.
Romeo Langford (No. 5)
Not a ton has changed for Langford since the fall. He took his official visits to Vanderbilt, Indiana and Kansas in September and October, but the plan was always to wait until the late signing period to make a decision. Vanderbilt had momentum coming out of the fall, especially after landing five-star prospects Darius Garland and Simi Shittu, but some of the recent buzz has centered around Langford staying home and playing for the Hoosiers. There are still some twists and turns ahead in this one.
Prediction: Indiana
Confidence level: 45 percent
Others in the mix: Vanderbilt, Kansas
Anchors down needed to get him in november before he was able to watch drew coach. The longer it goes the more drew is exposed imo.

It’s really hard to tell. Kansas has been on him the longest. He is good friends with Darius Garland who is headed to Vandy. Archie Miller has worked exceptionally hard to make a positive impression in a short amount of time. Check back in a month with me.

Hunter is in a spot that we are comfirable with. In my conversations with Langford he is giving all three finalist Indiana ,Vanderbilt and Indiana the sane chance. He is watching the coaches and their style of play. Told me after these season he would decide.

I think the longer it goes the better for IU. Just watched future #Hoosier big man Jake Forester. Active, athletic big man who will help IU win games.

Look the NBA and College ball are totally different. With that said, as much as everyone says our roster is not good which is true, we have good pieces to sell Romeo. Kansas has more so I won't compare but,

Would you rather have Shittu coming off a ACL injury as a freshmen or a Senior Juwan Morgan who has shown he can easily be All B1G next season as well as maybe this year? My pick is Morgan without Crimson glasses on.

Would you rather have Garland or Phinisee running the offense you're in? Answer is Garland, but Phinisee isn't that bad of a choice either as well as Shittu.

Now to the role players which Vandy won't have much of that are known compared to De'Ron Davis, DeVonte Green, Justin Smith, Josh McRoberts YES Josh McRoberts who all have shown enough to be excited about with another off-season ahead. Then you add Jerome Hunter who has NBA potential as well as Clifton Moore who yes is very raw but a prospect. Throw in the rest of the guys and our bench/role players are clearly better than Vandys. Coaching staff I would have to give us the edge on as well.

If Romeo & Garland we're not close this isn't even a topic, but they are and they have a shot, but I'm more worried about KU ever since Romeo didn't pull the trigger when Vandy had all the momentum. I'd bet IU at the moment, but who knows. All I'm saying is stop acting like we have nothing to sell the kid, which I didn't even bring up playing in his home state, which has shown to be an effective tool for lots of kids.
