(2018) SG Romeo Langford - INDIANA HOOSIERS

Recommended Posts

There’s two different ways to share what you hear that we’ve had in this thread the past couple days. One was arrogant, condescending, and prodding, which naturally brings the most pushback. The other was delivered by a delicious pizza sandwich.

I agree. I get that a lot of the info is fake or from a sketchy source, but that’s the reason I come here over Twitter at times!

Just gonna throw this out there:
Right now we only have three guards on next year's roster (Durham, Green, and Phinisee).
Romeo would be guard #4. If not Romeo, shouldn't we have been hearing about IU interest in recruiting another 2018 guard by now?

Uber thin at guard next year

No one freaking knows anything people. Relax and let it play out. If we don't get him, we still have a solid group coming in. It's not the end of the world some people make it out to be.

It's the same old stuff. Everyone has a source and the sources are usually bs.

Why are people shooting others down for sharing information they’ve heard? That’s the whole point of this forum. I get that a lot of it is negligible, but a lot of us come here for any type of news.

Thank you everyone for sharing your info!

Because in the past 99% of this information turns out not to be true.

Agree, but the Crean situation got complicated when he won the B1G is 15-16. The real mistake was not making the move after the 13-14 season but don't recall what the candidate situation would have been like. Not making an all-out blitz for Stevens at any time is difficult to swallow.
However, we shouldn't make mountains out of molehills. We have a very solid foundation for the next several years and can make a big splash with the '19 class to get this thing rolling.
He should of been fired two years before he was period. At the time I said that I got mocked. Glass set us back another four years by keeping him already knowing his ceiling. At this point all we do is rebuild.

I love to read all of these tidbits that people share. It's fun. But in the end, I know no one really knows. That's why I do not get out of sorts if it's not a pro Indiana tidbit or overly excited if it's pro Indiana.

I just don't think we will be as good with him or as bad without him as some seem to think.

Recruiting momentum would be huge with Romeo. But lets say we miss Romeo but bring in a grad transfer guard who averages 16+ ppg. Would there be THAT much difference?

Imo anybody who can put the ball in the round circle would be a huge help. People act like we are a disaster right now but i dont think we are far from being decent. We lack a shooter if we made shots we would be looking alot better than we are right now

Interesting update from Bossi. He must have heard something this weekend.

According to Eric Bossi

Vanderbilt head coach Bryce Drew was on hand with an assistant and it seems the Commodores and Kansas are starting to open up some distance between themselves and Langford's other finalist, Indiana. There's always time for things to change and even though Langford says he doesn't feel pressure to stay home, he has to be feeling it some. But, it looks like Archie Miller may have landed the IU job a little too late to keep Langford home.

If he does not come to iu it's not because Archie landed to late
By signing in the spring that gave us a year to recruit him. Plenty of time. I simply don't believe anchors down is in the lead.

Agree completely. A good shooter and both the Duke and UofL games could very easily have been a different outcome. DD and JM are playing well down low. A knock down shooter completely changes things. This has been one of the absolute worse shooting teams that I can remember at IU. Another year of getting this defense down will be a huge plus going into next season. By the way, I don't think Bossi has heard anything new, just what he formulates in his noggin. I will and still say, that my homeboy will be wearing candy stripes next year. Formulate that! ROOAAAR!

True. Louisville and Kentucky have blown us out of the water over the last 15 years. We have been down so long I don’t know if we ever recover. I don’t blame the coaches. I blame the ADs who hired the coaches and allowed them to run our program into the ground.

You know, I thought along those lines too, but have noticed all of the young kids down here really repping the IU gear at the HS games this season.

I see plenty of younger kids reposing IU gear down here. UL has probably grown the most since I was younger but still plenty of young IU fans.

See what most don't realize is that UofL went from a reqionally known school (except bb) to a well rounded athletic destination. Whether dirty or not, Jurich operated liked a Vegas developer. A grand vision, driven, bully attitude.
