Popular Post Jboser42 Posted April 7, 2018 Popular Post Posted April 7, 2018 (edited) Wherever Romeo goes, good for him. One recruit will never define Indiana Basketball and even though we’ve had some really good individual players over the years, the team was what won us those championships. A well coached, good shooting, defensive focused team. We’re back on track with the coaching and the defense, and I think the fundamentals will only continue to get better. No more Prillers or April’s taking scholarships, but specific recruits narrowed down to fit Archie’s vision and scheme. The future is looking as good as it has in a very long time, with or without Romeo. Edited April 7, 2018 by Jboser42 bizzle44, wirenuts, ThompsonHoosier and 13 others 16 Quote

Archie basically came in and had a year to build a relationship and put us in a position to get a heck of a player. Crean didn't make it easy for Arch either with the product left behind. I gotta give it to him whether we win this one or not. The future looks bright. mookied39, Alford Bailey and pumpfake 3 Quote

So the fact that it was announced is not new information for Romeo. Newman was looking to jump before this season but knew he had no chance of getting picked. Also, hearing now that Vick had prepared for this as well once the season progressed. So in essence, Self knew and probably pitched this to RL a while back. Therefore, nothing new for Romeo and Co. Everyone wants to jump to conclusions about the timing and I get that. But it could also be conicidental and this was the plan all along which was no more visits. cappymo14, Iugradman and HoosierDYT 3 Quote

He also spoke pretty positively about Coach Schilling getting guys to the league. Both sound good for IU. Yeah that interview sounded pretty positive for IU imo, I'm not sure what other people are freaking out about. Just more pessimists jumping to conclusions I guess. He said more about IU than any of the other 2 schools in that interview, and I feel like his answer was more thought out: "I like coach [Archie] Miller. He gets the best out of his players and he proved that this year. Even though they weren't that good of a team, having the best season, he got them ready for big games like Duke and stuff like that. And then they also got coach [Ed] Schilling. His individual development over the summer with guards, his resume says it all. He sent so many guys to the NBA when he was at UCLA. So those two are reasons I like Indiana." chicagoHOOSIER, McHoop, lillurk and 12 others 14 1 Quote
LamarCheeks Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 So, since we all pretty much agree now that he's going to Kansas, we don't need to write anything further until he makes that official, correct? Iugradman, MemphisHoosier, mookied39 and 1 other 3 1 Quote

Coach Miller gets the best out of players and all three schools have positives in getting players to the league (Schilling, in our case). Group that with him announcing in his HS gym, I’m liking IU now. Might be too close to call, but him saying that there aren’t going to be any more visits doesn’t mean he’s not in contact with the coaches via phone/text. This is the exact interview he gave at the Burger game. Straight up word for word, not an ounce of deviance. Either the kid is giving canned speeches at this point or this article is not new at all. cappymo14 Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 I know some of you are members of other IU fan boards. My question is, are other boards following this new KU trend? Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mamasa 1 Quote
MikeRoberts Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 I’ve said Kansas from the start and will stick with that but I don’t feel like the latest article suggests Kansas anymore than any other school.Still hopeful for IU, I like the idea of him announcing in his gym. That doesn’t mean IU but he had a great chance to announce for KU at the McDonalds game with some of his buddies there and he didn’t do itSent from my iPhone using BtownBanners mobile app Iugradman 1 Quote

HoosierSadaseci Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 A lot of people said that if Romeo visited IU again that it was a good sign, would probably be more a visit about academics, now that he's not visiting IU again are we to assume it's a bad sign? HoosierAloha 1 Quote

Sent from my iPhone using BtownBanners Not really to the extent we are. Mile (at HSN) said he just got some info today, and would be shocked if it's KU (he's said that all along). Said things are still up in the air, can't call IU. Said he doubts KU is a player. Most other boards are kind of "meh" about it Class of '66 Old Fart, RatpigHoosier and ALASKA HOOSIER 3 Quote
Brass Cannon Posted April 7, 2018 Posted April 7, 2018 I feel if there was real intel we would have seen more picks switch. This is just guessing. If Meyer switches to Kansas I'll worry Quote
Popular Post mamasa Posted April 7, 2018 Popular Post Posted April 7, 2018 Just for the fun of adding fuel to the fire, if you read that article, he calls both Drew and Miller "coach", but calls KU's coach "Bill Self".
