Popular Post Old Friend Posted January 23, 2016 Popular Post Posted January 23, 2016 I don't know what happened, and I sure don't want to make the statement that Indiana is a better team without Blackmon, but if something else other than his getting hurt happened which led to the team playing this efficiently and this well on the defensive end, I'd love to hear other opinions. They're playing now as well as any Crean team has at Indiana, and it's a lot of fun to see. The schedule gets a little tougher, but this is a team taking better care of the ball, taking higher quality shots, sharing the ball from all spots, rebounding well, and guarding really well on the defensive end. Pretty hard to find anything other than "keep it up." Ranger78, Ryno6284, Tom White and 14 others 17 Quote
Miller'sTheMan Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 17-3, 7-0 in the B1G and playing great basketball. Can't ask for anything more than that. ALASKA HOOSIER, hoosierdogg, incrediboy and 1 other 4 Quote
Popular Post rebelhoosier848891 Posted January 23, 2016 Popular Post Posted January 23, 2016 This is just fun. Great offense and good defense---a recipe for continued success. Let the commentators continue to underrate us----I like the underdog role. One shout-out today to Juwan Morgan----7 points and 2 rebounds and an assist in ONLY 6 MINUTES. Our freshmen continue to impress--but we have not always given Morgan his due. I have heard he was battling an injury but he is solid in his own right. He shot a 3 and had a great spin move to name a few plays in limited minutes. Keep on rollin' Hoosiers! IUsafety, hoosierdogg, OliviaPope40 and 11 others 14 Quote
Whoozhers Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 What do those shirts mean that Michigan had on when they switched to the other game? We 100?FHG... They had that last year too. Today's college education at its best I guess. Tragic. ALASKA HOOSIER and Josh 2 Quote
hoosierdogg Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 30 made shots on 21 assists = outstanding. 38-19 rebounding advantage = outstanding. 21 assists and 10 turnovers - read that again. Isn't that just the opposite of how it was earlier in the season? 11 Hoosiers score, 7 hitting threes. Only negatives - Bryant's shoes are too big (steppin' on the end line) and Max can't keep his feet still. 3 of the 10 turnovers were Max doing the shuffle (one not really his fault) and 2 were Bryant stepping on the end line. Any other negatives? I didn't see any. Class of '66 Old Fart, Josh, ALASKA HOOSIER and 1 other 4 Quote

colonel06 Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 At this defensive pace of improvement could we see something similar to Coach Knight's Hoosiers dismantling of Notre Dame at AH on Dec. 18, 1971 by a score of 94-29?? MemphisHoosier 1 Quote

Popular Post Stuhoo Posted January 23, 2016 Popular Post Posted January 23, 2016 As my nine year old (who breathes the game) said to me "James Blackmon can't be that bad!" I think, on a few different levels, that sums it up for me. We are impressed. __________________________________________________________________________________________________ There WILL be adversity at some point soon. Popular Post WayneFleekHoosier Posted January 23, 2016 Popular Post Posted January 23, 2016 Fantastic team ball today from start to finish. A couple defensive lapses (4-5). Otherwise, much better D effort again. I would take Olah and Demps as my 7th or 8th guy all day. Good players. Facts are we look much more focused since Blackmon went down. I hope he recognizes the passion, ball movement and defensive intensity it takes to win. I want him back next year, but I want a meaner, tougher, more determined version. This team has shown we have a plethora of guys to hit shots but defense at this level or any level takes a 5 guy unit. One lazy link kills it. I don't mean to put all this on him. I think it's bigger, but the "get mine" attitude is contagious. A proud Hoosier again. I realize the losses will come but if we are playing team ball with maximum effort, the losses won't bother me AS MUCH. incrediboy, HoosierAloha, ALASKA HOOSIER and 5 others 8 Quote

Trish Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Well i thought we would lose but it looks like we didnt. Have we finally found what we're doing right? Even those these teams are pretty bad.. we are beating them badly... I was going to make a thread earlier.. but i'll just say it in here. My passion for IU hoops is starting to come back... it's actually fun to watch our boys... @Wisconsin will tell us a lot about our team. ALASKA HOOSIER and Str8Hoosiers 2 Quote
Josh Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 We outrebounded them 40-23 One thing I definitely miss about Blackmon...he always follows his 3 point shot, often getting the rebound if he misses. All the guys out there today started backing down the court instead of following their shot. Quote
LockdownD Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 I love watching this team play. The intensity was great. Sharing the ball gave us a balanced scoring attack. We're 7 and 0 and we're the team to catch. Great to be a Hoosier. ALASKA HOOSIER 1 Quote
Josh Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 Interesting notes from cbssports: TIP-INS Northwestern: The 89 points allowed was the most given up by the Wildcats this season. ... Indiana native Bryant McIntosh finished with four points, six rebounds and six assists. He needs nine more assists to break Tim Doyle's season school record (157), which was set in 2006-07. ... The Wildcats are 3-3 in their last six trips to Assembly Hall and 8-6 against the Hoosiers during the Crean Era. Indiana: Needs one more win to match its longest winning streak (13) since 2000. The last time Indiana did that was in 2007-08. ... Ferrell, the Hoosiers' career assists leader, added six more to his total (559) and moved into the school's top 10 in scoring, too, by passing Eric Anderson (1,715 points). Ferrell has 1,719. ... Bielfeldt made one 3 in the game, giving him 12 this season - one more than his career total at Michigan. Napleshoosier, HoosierAloha, Bowhunter and 2 others 5 Quote
biteoftheapple Posted January 23, 2016 Posted January 23, 2016 I personally think YF decided to take his position as team leader. I believe he has told the team that defense will win, in JBJs absence. I see difference in his play, and attitude in this winning streak, and the team is believing in theirself. If course this is me speculating and hoping it all continues Tom White, ALASKA HOOSIER, HoosierAloha and 1 other 4 Quote
Popular Post The Ola Depot Posted January 23, 2016 Popular Post Posted January 23, 2016 Sick of the weak schedule talk. Yeah the teams we've been playing are on the lower half of the Big Ten rankings but they've played some good teams close and even beaten some. Plus it's not like we're barely beating these teams. We're blowing all of them out. Crimson and Cream, waitingon6, LockdownD and 5 others 8 Quote
