If you bet me in November that O$U and Nebraska would both be top 4 in the conference into the second week of February I would have put my house against it. One of the many reasons I don't bet on sports!

It’s what makes college basketball the best sport in my opinion. Every year there are always teams picked to finish near the bottom that exceed expectations and always teams that underachieve (Minny, northwestern). You never know going into a season. Virginia was picked to finish 6 or worse and they are leading Acc by a full 3 games. Tennessee and auburn were picked to finish in bottom half of the league and they are the top 2 teams today while Texas A&M seen as the favorite this year is 5-6.

Has Holtman shown he can recruit at an elite level? Seems to me there are some coaches that can really recruit, some coaches that can really teach and a very few that can do both. They are household names. I'm confident Holtman can coach, but I'm not sure he's an elite recruiter....at least I hope not! Will be interesting to see how he does in a couple yrs with his own guys. Even next year without Bates and Tate might be a wake-up call. He's B1G CoY IMO, but I'm skeptical he'll maintain this level of success.

I don't see Holtman taking over puke when Cal slimes his way out of Lexington. I'm curious how he does recruiting too. I could see O$U consistently being in the top half of the Big Ten though.

For the next half dozen years I think we'll see MSU (assuming Izzo skates), Michigan, O$U,and IU near the top. pu, Maryland, Minny, and Nebrasketball as the next tier. NW, Ill, Iowa, and PSU getting tourney bids every once in awhile and Rutger and Wiscy bringing up the rear.

It's obviously contingent on how he does at OSU.  But he's a native kentuckian and is the right age.  The UK fan base is convinced they're getting Brad Stevens though.

You mean there aren't homer channels, a coaches corner channel, and a channel with Bill Walton dressed as Uncle Sam? This is the "greatest rivalry in SPORTS!!!"(patent pending)

Trent Frazier is on fire right now 5-7 from 3 and has 21. Wisky up 3. Not a bad freshman point guard ranked outside the top 100 making an impact
