It’s almost impressive the way Payne continues to be willing to look like the dumbest man on earth in order to insure getting out of that deal and getting that check. That’s not as easy as it sounds and the dude is absolutely pulling it off.

He shot about 32% from 3 his first two seasons. I don’t know how you go about predicting a guy like that will go up to 45%+ on more attempts.

I agree but man he is killing it this year and looked very good last night vs TN.

He is. It’s onlya five game sample, but .485 from three on almost 5 attempts is legit. Every night it seems like a couple of top 25 teams fall to unranked teams, and I’d bet the transfer portal is a huge driver of that randomness. 
 

It’ll be interesting to see if some teams master the portal and consistently do well or if it remains a crapshoot.   
 

It’ll also be interesting if a team like Purdue who just decided to stand pat and develop their players is rewarded for that strategy.

Started watching Texas Tech and Butler. I was surprised to see Thad Matta as head coach.

Whatever  happened to him being at IU when Woody first came on board?

He worked a year with Woody at IU  and then got offered the Butler head coaching job.
