rebelhoosier848891 Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 I am glad MSU held on---helps the Big Ten. Without Valentine they were still good enough. Purdue put it on Vandy late---Purdue plays defense like we wish we would. But their offense is hard to watch. I dread playing against the three giants inside---especially at West Laffy. They only hit 2 3-pointers that I remember but still won by double digits due to their post game. Bobman1, WayneFleekHoosier and GloryDays 3 Quote

If they get hot from 3, no one will beat them. If they struggle from 3, they are very beatable, but still formidable as they showed tonight. I really like this Purdue team. They are 1 legit scoring guard away from being a top rated team. Hammons, Haas, Swanigan, Edwards, and Davis are all great players. Oh well. Glad they will finally lose Hammons. BGleas Posted December 23, 2015 Posted December 23, 2015 On paper, yes. Will be interesting to see how Izzo, who obviously is one of the top coaches in the game, handles having all these freshmen UK style. Sometimes guys, even as talented as Izzo, can struggle when they're outside their lane. He's not used to having a lot of the freshmen with potential agenda's. Will be interesting to watch. MSU is going to be unreal next season if they get Jackson. WayneFleekHoosier, Crimson and Cream, Stuhoo and 1 other 4 Quote

I still think he ends up at Michigan state Quote

When we're only playing one of our biggest rivals once, it's kind of a big deal. This was a topic of considerable outrage a few years ago. Now, if it was someone like Northwestern or Penn State, your snarky reply would have made a better point. Quote

Where was the outrage when the schedule was released back when many thought this was a Final Four team? Or at the beginning of the schedule when tons of discussion happened over this Big Ten schedule and how easy it was? Or was that a pre-reflection of the season? Maybe, my snarky reply was right on point. I can't see anything indicating people cared where or when we played Purdue this season at any point, including when we had higher expectations. Feel free to find the old Big Ten schedule release thread and prove me wrong. But, you may not have been around during those optimistic times so you might not remember. Edit: Here's one of the full schedule threads, so you don't have to search. https://btownbanners.com/topic/8175-season-prediction-full-schedule mdn82 and Walking Boot of Doom 2 Quote

I still remember telling someone at work about how this was going to be our best year yet and finally the team to end our third weekend drought. I cringe all the time thinking about it. Embarrassing. Embarrassing.i was quietly very optimistic about this team but trends are trends. Can't ignore them. I KNEW we were still one legit big man/defender/rebounder away from having the team we need. Ugh Luke Fischer, dare I say. Quote
