I wouldn't hold my breath.  I followed this past summer's AAU circuit pretty closely and don't recall ever seeing IU mentioned in attendance at Watford's games.  Also, I follow Watford on Twitter and don't see us ever mentioned.  And FWIW, I think Trendon has a completely different personality than CWat and who knows how that could play into his recruitment.

I know you are being a smartass as per usual, but it was one of those "you had to be there" moments to read body language.

I don't really care if you or pap or walking boot or anyone else discredits it.

It wasn't my Golden Lock Pick of the Century or anything. It was just my take based off of a personal interaction.

Fwiw my predictions and estimations on our recruiting has been more accurate or as accurate as anyone out there.

Pretty sensibly it's fair to assume that he and his brother has had conversations about this, regarding dream schools, best fit, etc, etc.

I don't think Pap was saying otherwise Doc. He was just asking more detail on the interaction. I think Paps information stands on itself, so I don't need to stick up for him. But his information comes from a variety of places. So when someone has up close interaction he likes to learn more. Here and elsewhere.

Fwiw I asked a national recruiting scout at southport who iu's best chance at a top level recruit was beyond 2018 and he mentioned trendon. I didnt post it earlier because I felt it's too early in process to mean anything but since there was an instance where there was bad news in the case of trendon I figured I would even it out with some positive news lol. A lot of time from now until the end of this recruitment.

I seriously doubt it. As I said his little brother still has a couple yrs left of HS I doubt either knows where he is leaning. There's no sense to read so deeply into something and spaz out about it this early.

I don't know the algorithm they use but I'd be down to help on something like this. I'm not sure the best way to go about it. (I'm decent in excel, yay comp sci!) If we could get the support of the mods and a few others to help out I could set something up. We would probably only be able to do a recruiting cycle or two though.

Could probably keep it simple and start with IU offers? Or just have a predictions league where a few days before their announcement everyone submits picks? Might miss a few of the surprise pops, but we're not going for perfection here

It would be a fun exercise to see how well BTBers guess. We could do something like 50% is based on right/wrong and the other 50% is number of days right? I'm not sure the scope of it though. Maybe top 50 and IU targets?

Could have said a lot of things. Anything to inspire hope.

Things didn't turn out the way CWat hoped professionally. It's not IUs fault, but Trendon will go to a NBA factory if he can. Same is true with most of the higher rated kids.

That has you convinced about a kid who is 20-30 months from a decision? 

IU and the Watfords are plenty close and this is being handled the correct way, imo, on both ends from what I've been told. Trendon knows nearly everything about the Indiana program and Tom Crean. It'll come down to if he wants to carve his own path or follow on with his brothers legacy. I would expect to see Trendon focus on other programs for the next year + and that's exactly what I'd be telling him if I were advising.

Considering he is a 25-year-old man who plays basketball for a living and is constantly hounded with questions about his 16-year-old little brother, the fact that he was polite is probably the biggest plus and the most information anyone was going to get.
