IU’s basketball culture is dead (and the case for why our next coach should be given 6+ seasons)

I think there is a chance that we can have an enjoyable team, winning team with high integrity guys. The problem with not going the big money proven route,  there may be 8 coaches better than ours in the conference, maybe not though. 

I have zero confidence in DDV. Hes soft as baby ****. Has no swagger or attitude at all. 180 degree opposite of Cig. Hiring him was a huge fail. And hiring thd Carr guy is just more lipstick on a pig to keep fans hopes up and keep them off the AD department backs. No different than when Woodson was hired and Matta and Fife were coming with him to lock up recruiting and blah blah blah. It’s the same BS from IU. The only thing they are consistently good at his hiring the wrong guy and talking a big game about it.

At times I've honestly felt like the entire IU fan base has been on Candid Camera the past 26 years.  It's really hard to imagine anyone could be this incompetent unless it was by design but here we are.

Comparing hiring Carr to a retired Matta and Fife is, take no offense, ridiculous. That was a big time hire.

It won’t amount to ****. It doesn’t fix the coaching. It’s just more BS for fans to buy into. Already proved they hired the wrong coach so they had to hire a guy to do part of his job for him.

Iowa made the E8 for the first time in ever. AZ looking to go to the F4 for the first time in 25 yrs. Two schools who have broken (or will hopefully with AZ) before IU. And sadly IU doesn’t look like it’s close. Talk about culture.

McCollum wasn’t going anywhere other than Iowa. It’s where he wanted to be. He’ll say no to UNC and Kansas as well.

Do people not realize the same administration that hired DeVries also hired the coach that just delivered a national title to the worst college football program of all time? The ND football/IU basketball fan are the worst kind of people on Earth.

Sure sounds like Lloyd to UNC based off interviews last night.  That would be a hell of a move.  The longer things go, Kansas opening looks less likely, despite all the hints in the world Self is half in/half out.

I heard that clip too. Just crazy if they pull that off, but in the world of NIL I guess anything is possible.

I still think he uses UNC to get a big raise and more NIL at Arizona, so it may take some time for him to sign a new deal.  Leaving a program that’s rolling for a place he has no ties would be surprising.

I still think he uses UNC to get a big raise and more NIL at Arizona, so the official decline may take some time.  Leaving a program that’s rolling for a place he has no ties would be surprising.

Sounds like he’s supremely reverent of the UA job (“It’s Indiana. It’s Indiana”) and feels his role is to keep the sun shining on that gig for as long as possible.
