Wondering where Preston fits in? I see Marsh as your X and Becker as your Z. Morris makes the most sense as the slot but is that something Shazz does well also? You take him obviously and would rather have ample depth than the other way around. I just see so much production for Marsh and Becker next year. This is going to be fun again.

We are going to be deep at WR. Like you, I see Shazz as the Y in our 3 wide sets but he could be versatile enough to set at Z depending on matchup and health.

Staff must really like what they see to target an FCS guy.

Montana State probably wins C-USA going away, flirts with winning the MAC, and competes hard in the Mtn. West, AAC, and Sun Belt. An FCS Freshman All-American is a legit player.

I guess I should have worded my post a little bitter.

Staff must really like what they see. So the kid is legit.

Not a jab.

Preston had 43 catches for 723 yards this season. Wouldn't be a bad piece to add to the receiver room since they clearly feel the need to add to it.

16.8 ypc is no joke. Cig and Shanahan clearly think we need another vertical threat, which I agree with. Before Becker came on, we didn't really have that burner that could take the top off a defense. Next year passing game might be more home run swings than methodical back shoulder throws.

I am continually impressed by the staff's ability to structure an offense around player strengths.

Nah I didn’t take it as one, just adding some context. The top of FCS, teams and players, is really good football. And having 3 more years of this kid is excellent.

Rankings are what they are, but Shazz was the 56th ranked player in the national composite coming out. That’s gotta be the highest ranked guy we’ve ever had in Bloomington unless I’m forgetting a transfer. I know EJ Williams was pretty high.

Anyone know what happened there?

Hopefully it means Martin and Beebe are back and maybe there is another production over potential guy we are looking at. Maybe it was a move to get our guys to decide if they were definitely staying.

Who "heard some things"? Baxter or Weaver?

To me, it looks like we still have two holes to fill — Center and Mike LB. I haven’t seen any names linked to either position other than Owen Long, who we missed out on.

Has anyone seen any other names being discussed for either spot?

I read into it that the price was more important than the football for the kid. Maybe I’m wrong but that’s what I read into it.
