I won't be surprised if we don't cover the score.

And I will have Fisch and the Suhr with a personality on the call, thank you very much.

Agreed, my first reaction when I saw spread was that we would cover easily. But then I looked into them and they played a lot of decent teams pretty close last year, and I think they return quite a bit.

Love my Hoosiers, and my time at IU, but man o man is that a creepy looking mascot.
It would have looked dumb in the 1940’s and is even worse now.

Anyway, can’t wait for the season to start.

I don't think it's a big deal, but it looks too cartoonish and unserious to me.  I'd like a meaner looking bison -- college sports are tough and competitive.

@Stuhoo makes a good point it's not the most bison looking bison.  If you asked people who knew nothing about IU what it was, I'm not sure how many would say bison.

We'll see how the real life one looks here in a few days.  I'm still pro-mascot -- kids like it, it's fun, and the mascot design/suit can evolve if feedback isn't super positive.

Last year, at South Carolina in front of 78,000 fans, Old Dominion only lost 23-19 and they should have won the game.

South Carolina only scored 2 td’s both of which followed recovering OD fumbles inside the 10 yard line. ie South Carolina was not able to generate a TD “drive” longer than 10 yards the entire game!!

OD out gained and outplayed South Carolina (which as a member of the SEC is obviously one of the best teams in the history of football) but shot themselves in the foot with 4 turnovers.

We better be ready to play ( I have the utmost confidence that Cig will make sure that happens). Can’t wait!!

Oh ye of little faith!  Our Hoosiers are going to send an opening game message.

I have faith (predicted a 42-10 IU win).

Just pointing out that we need to take OD seriously (unlike ISU).

Coach Cig and Coach Ricky Rahne have faced each other twice (Royal Rivalry). Coach Rahne is very familiar with IUFB's scheme. Aiden Fisher (assuming all the other JMU guys do as well) has a really good pulse on ODU.

RS SO QB Colton Joseph has legs. He played 9 games, replacing current IUFB backup QB Grant Wilson, and rushed for 647 yards with an avg of 5.7 a carry. He totaled 22TDs (11 Passing, 11 Rushing) last season. West coast guy that if he stays healthy and plays as well as he did last season will most likely transfer to a P4 school.

Our beloved Hoosiers play against multiple teams with mobile QBs this year (Kennesaw St., Illinois, Iowa, MSU, Maryland, and PSU). Although it's the first game of the season, this game will let us know right away how the D can handle a mobile QB.

Oh, we have created worse mascots.  Much worse.

I watched the pregame presser with the ODU coach and was impressed with him. They sound prepared and capable of giving us a test. I don't expect this game to be a walk in the park, especially if we take them lightly. The first game with a bunch of new guys always makes me a little anxious.

Fox and YouTube TV have still not reached a contract agreement and if they don’t by 5pm today Fox and it’s affiliate stations won’t be on YouTube TV. I might be switching to Hulu Live if this doesn’t get resolved

They have agreed on a short term extension while trying to reach an agreement, so IU/Old Dominion game will be on.

Beyond excited for Hoosier football and the start of IU fall sports.

I really believe that barring injuries, we're looking at a 9-3 / 10-2 season.

Unfathomable for the old IUFB!

No self imposed limitations since Cig got to town. Let's smack these fools

Then why you giving us 2-3 losses?  12 and 0 baby.  :)
