Ok, where are our experts? What are we getting with this ? Give us the breakdown of his game

A 6’4, 6’5 guard/wing that can absolutely shoot the ball.  Deep, off dribble, set, 3 level. The potential to be the kind of guard we haven’t had in a long time. Competitive.  With a chip on his shoulder.  Decent off the bounce with room for improvement here for sure.  Above average on defense with the potential to be really good.  Great free throw shooter.  We will have an argument with him and Tucker that we have the best 2 shooters with some size to them.

That being said other many other teams can say similar things but Indiana hasn’t had this level of shooting since Creans time.

I thought one of the knocks on his game is that he has typically played lax on defense, mainly to save energy as we was the guy that had to do a ton on offense. It looks like he has the tools to be better than he has been on defense and in his interview today realizes he can definitely improve in this area.

Mike Wiemuth (X’s & Joes Pod) @M_Wiemuth_

This season, Lamar Wilkerson was my favorite small school guard to watch in college bball. He’s the only player in D1 that ranks top-10 in 3-point % (7th: 44.5%) & top-50 in 3-attempts (45th: 245). Very few players ever hit that mark over any time period. Big-time get for IU.

This is absolutely dead on correct -- high attempts plus very high percentage, Lamar is a real outside shooter.

Our outside shooting game is hitting the ground running. What a great start to a high caliber offensive system.

Gonna miss half the fan base blaming Cliff Marshall for shooting struggles lol… but I think we’re going to see an awful lot less frustrating brand of basketball next season. Dare I say… a fun brand of basketball.

Can’t wait to see how the roster fills out. I’m more excited about Wilkerson than I would’ve been for Conway.

Yup. Gonna be the 1st time since Blackmon that IU will be running out the best shooter on the floor. And he can make those tough contested looks that have defenders shaking their head when they do everything right and a dude just makes one right in their grille.

Yeah he's from my neck of the woods, my son spent 2 years at SHSU, have seen this dude play, strong shooter, it's going to be fun - I'm stoked to see him at IU, great to see a real offense coming together.

Looks like my thought that Wilkerson didn't want to tell UK 'no' to them while on their campus turned out to likely be correct.

Also think we can put to rest the 'if a guy leaves campus without a commitment, he isn't committing'.

That did seem to be a trend of sorts last year but not so this year.

I think with agents now, players can visit and go home. Tell the agent to tell the loser staff at Kentucky no.
