Shooter Posted April 30 Posted April 30 Now that we have almost a full roster... Three point shooting is going to be unreal. I'm assuming we start Wilkerson, Dorn, and DeVries at the 2-3-4 - not many teams with a group of shooters like that. Plus the potential return of Goode. Defense and rebounding still a big question mark. Bailey-DeVries projects as one of the weakest rebounding/rim protection frontcourts in the conference. Surprised we did not add a big big as a change of pace from Bailey's skilled game. Maybe staff sees Alexis as that guy? Excited to see this play out. It will certainly be a different style of ball than we've seen the past several seasons. Quote

Dorn’s a slightly better shooter but I think Miles is better overall offensively. Good problem to have. Quote

This is the first time in years where I don’t even worry about the lineup or really roster construction because I genuinely feel we have a real basketball coach who knows exactly what he’s doing and will execute his plan hoosierbannerd and HoosierHoopster 2 Quote
Home Jersey Posted April 30 Posted April 30 Conerway, Wilkerson, TDV, Bailey, Harris could be an interesting offensive lineup. Not sure how it holds up on defense but I’m looking forward to seeing DDV’s vision. Maybe swap Miles for Wilkerson, I think he’s a better perimeter defender? Quote

Coming around to the idea that Conerway, Wilkerson, DeVries, Harris, Alexis might be the best overall lineup. Probably won't be the lineup you see to start many games but a lineup down the stretch when you need a stop. Home Jersey 1 Quote

IMO, it remains to be seen if Miles is actually a plus shooter, or just a guy who took a lot of threes in a crazy system. Career 32% 3PT and 65% FT. I do like his plus rebounding from the wing, on a roster that will need that. I'm a bit higher on Dorn for a few reasons, including that some big players like UNC and Gonzaga wanted him. But I admit I have never watched either of them play a full game, so I'm not an expert on either guy. str8baller 1 Quote

68Hoosier Posted May 1 Posted May 1 Do we know if or when the players will start arriving on campus for team meetings / practice? Will they wait until the start of the next semester or will they get a jump on getting familiar with things there. Quote

This looks like it might have some foreshadowing that he can and will get approved. Quote
