Yea, earlier he would’ve pump faked and drew the foul or passed to the open guy. He was beat. Only 18 so its understandable

He was beat as early as 10 minutes to go in the game which coincided with their downfall.
And Proctor…down the stretch he dribbled the ball off his leg and out of bounds and misses the front end of a one and one…..oof

Days like this are why this sport is awesome. Probably the second worst choke job I've seen in the NCAA tournament. The all-time one was Northern Iowa-Texas A&M.

Scheyer is much more likeable than Coach K, but he's not all that like the media makes him out to be. He's been able to use the Duke brand to get Elite recruits. Blew it last year against an 11 seed in the Elite 8 and again this year against a Houston team that has nowhere near the talent Duke has.

So who are we all rooting for on Monday?

My bracket was more hope than logic with Houston v St. John's. I would favor Florida but my hearts with Houston.  Has been all year.

If he doesn’t deliver a title in the next 4-5 years…the shadow money investing massive sums in his Duke teams might force a change.

I couldn't be happier for Coach Sampson. An incredible redemption story in the makings. I said it all year, whomever the coach for us may be. Give me a Houston identity we'll be good.

Agreed. Just an unreal performance. A masterful coach that is all about grit and winning culture. Incredible coach.

You are spot on..all I heard in 2022 was how Hubert replaced a legend. Look how that's going for them. Same with Scheyer this week. He is able to get all the talent he wants. Ex: next year Boozer twins. He's won nothing. His first year they get spanked  in the 2nd round by a Tennessee team that had nowhere near the talent they did. Last year blew it to an 11 seed in the Elite 8. Tonight blows a 14 point lead against Houston. He was a great player and seems like a great guy. I just think he's another golden boy the CBB media puts on a pedestal. I remember how surprised I was that he was going to replace Coach K. DePaul had just turned him down.

So, either the youngest coach ever, or the oldest coach ever, will win a Natty on Monday night

You are joking, right?

Golden is 39.

This guy was 35 when he won his first title. His team didn't lose a game that season.

Sampson with the masterful coaching job down the stretch. Duke had Houston on the ropes and just kept letting them hang around. For most of the game, Duke’s talent was too much for Houston to handle. Epic meltdown and great win for Houston. Should be a great game Monday night.

On tv they did  say Golden  would be the youngest coach to win it all but the correct answer is….Branch McCracken at 31.
