I'm so happy that the national podcast vindicated what a lot of us were saying. Also, I have never heard any of us use the word insider LOL. This place is great because a lof of people come here to share what they hear and for the most part everyone wants to hear it.

If this is true, Dolson had a plan all along.  If Stevens said no, he would go with McCollum or DeVries.  It’s pretty ingenious, really.

As Chris mentioned, Stevens was never a yes. Asked and said no, multiple times. once DeVries became the top contender, the only other coach who was contacted for 1 final 'ya sure?' was Jay Wright. 

As Chris also mentioned, time to move on. We got our guy and by all accounts we got a great one

He said no weeks ago, and he didn’t waver on that. Realize you’re not saying otherwise, but he never put himself in play. Further, we went to Dusty’s “representative” and got the same answer. Manual was already ahead of us and talking about a new deal. DDV and his reps did something most other coaches wouldn’t do.

He likes UM, appreciates their commitment to him, and wanted to show his in return. My understanding is that our inquiry was met quickly with a “No, thank you. He’s very happy where he is.”

Saw that. Was hoping Pagliuca's group would win the bid to minimize change, but glad to hear the winning bidders are from Massachusetts and are lifelong Celtics fans. That is great news!
