The only gripes I could see about jobs being overall better or above IU would be Arizona and Villanova. Arizona - incredible culture of winning, sustained success, lower pressure externally Villanova - less pressure, more recent success and national relevance, easier conference to navigate than SEC or B10 Otherwise, I think you would be hard pressed to win an argument about Duke, UNC, Kentucky, or Kansas. I'm inclined to agree, though I'd put the IU job above UCLA at this point in time. Historically, sure you could argue that all of UCLA's championships trump Indiana's, but you could make that argument about everyone else and shove them at the top. What makes UCLA a great job is the championships and location (lots of hoopers in SoCal, not a lot of recruiting competition in the immediate area). However, UCLA boosters have not stepped up in a significant way to empower the basketball program. They can put together a solid squad, but they remain outside the top echelon of programs. And fan support has wavered in recent years. UCLA is still a very good job, and being in the Big Ten helps. But in terms of current fan and donor support, it is not quite in the same tier as Indiana. cybergates 1 Quote

BA47591 Posted March 28 Posted March 28 After settling into the idea that we have DD as our coach I think we'll be ok. I'm eager to see who the staff will be. I'm sure once we land our first portal recruit it will be one after another. We might be waiting until Alabama gets eliminated before our staff is announced though. Quote

It seems like a guy who is doing the work that will get him where he wants to be. If he has a lot of fish on the line he's that much more attractive to people who are willing to bump his pay, including the BoT of his current employer. IvanRenkosillegitimatechild 1 Quote

If he were coming to IU for sure, he wouldn’t just stop working. So, this doesn't indicate much to me if he is coming here or not. Now, the raise probably reduces the chances he moves -- to what extent who knows. go iu bb 1 Quote

I always assumed if he was the premier recruiter for Alabama, it would be hard to pull him away unless he is not an associate HC Pagoda 1 Quote
Popular Post Chris007 Posted March 28 Popular Post Posted March 28 I think Murphy is out since he signed an extension at Alabama this week. Sounds like Barnett is going to get the Oral Roberts job. Olstrom to Minny. So I'm going with Achoki Moikobu from Texas Tech, Drew Adams from Cincy, and I'm not sure who the 3rd will be. Just my own guess, so don't take it for more than that. hoosierfan6157, Stuhoo, Leo and 7 others 7 3 Quote

Need to get a few recruiting sharks. Also our talent evaluation needs to be improved SO much. Although. I suppose having a system in place would help matters. Any normal person would clean their stuff out the day the season ended. Woody being Woody means his stuff stays until the 11th hour and IU being No Hurt Feelings University means they don't ruffle feathers. I don't know the details, but I do know how IU operates and the goofiest possible scenario is usually the most likely. That should put to rest any of those posts about how Woodson should be revered for his playing days despite his failures as a HC. He is nothing more than a petty charlatan of a coach that schemed with Buckner to fleece his alma mater and doesn't give two sh*ts about the success of the program moving forward. I would put big money on a wager that his desire is for the next coach to fail miserably. Quote
