IU’s problem and strangely also IU’s best hope, is that after today IU plays four straight games where they are likely to be at least a five point underdog .

This game today is probably their most important.   Maryland is a tourney team and they get them at home.   Win this and their chances to make the tourney go up however lose it and their chances will probably go way down.    After today they have 3 road games against high tourney quality teams which are basically high reward, low risk games.  You win them awesome but if you lose them it’s not going to hurt as much as some think it will.    Home games from here on out are the most important.   UCLA and Michigan become the most important games on the schedule after today

IU making the tournament? If History is a predictor of the future….. Chances are getting slimmer by the game.

Hope I’m wrong.

Shake the funk HOOSIERS!

Time to GO IS NOW!!

Ius next 7 games are against tournament teams.  Not just bubble tourney teams but protected seed level teams.   A bubble team like IU isn’t expected to win them all however they need to win the home games.  Iu has a chance to play itself into being comfortably projected into the tourney in the next 7 games or they will do what most bubble teams do and play themselves out of the picture.   Big 7 games for the Hoosiers and definitely a big 7 games for their fans

In this specific case, the option would have been either Mgbako or Goode guarding Derek Queen or Julian Reese if IU didn't go with two bigs.  While Woodson might be dumb, I'm not sure I would look forward to MM or Goode on either one of them.

Two bigs makes absolute sense against Maryland, Puredoo, and Michigan.

Disappointed that Mgbako is starting instead of Goode though. I know that Goode will be all in for the team no matter what, but he has earned the starting role over Mgbako. And Reneau and Mgbako out there at once is a defensive disaster.

Are Indiana players in good enough basketball shape to play two complete halves.

Listening to coach pregame he said 1st half and beginning of half 2 Indiana played great.  Then, 9 three balls…not in shape to sustain play a full game mentally and physically. (he did not say last part)
