IUFB 2024/25 Portalstravaganza

Recommended Posts

Gotta admit, I spent the last couple offseasons keeping a really long list of IU portal entries and where they ended up. I’m MUCH more interested in who’s coming in this year. If you leave, you were probably told to. See ya!

I have to assume Green's issue was pass protection. He seemed to have what you'd want from a pure running perspective. I also assume we'll be able to find a good RB in the portal. Feel like we need someone that can rise above Black and Martin

I’d bet they plan on bringing in 2. Cuono likely won’t be ready and like you said we just have Black and Martin.

Dasan McCullough back to the portal lol. At some point, maybe it isn’t about the school being picked but the one picking the school.

I mean he’s left two programs that struggled the year he left, with the portal that’s pretty much very okay, he is good when given an opportunity to show it, imo

When the going gets tough, find somewhere where it might not be as tough.

Let's not kid ourselves here. He left one program high and dry that was building an entire defense around him. Had he stayed with that program he'd potentially be playing in South Bend on 12/20/24 for the opportunity to showcase his talents on the world stage. Best of luck to him. I hope he's investing his money wisely.

SMU quarterback Preston Stone enters.  Started for SMU in 2023, throwing for 3200 yards, 60% completion and 28 TDs to 6 interceptions.  Lost the starting job to Kevin Jennings this season.  In limited play, completed 30 of 51 passes for 421 yards, 5 TDs and 1 interception.

I'm assuming he's got a chip, which fits the mindset mold. Who knows what Coach Cig and staff is looking for but we all know they prefer that kind of mindset.

I did watch his highlights from last year's OU game and it looks like he might of had some accuracy issues that game? A lot of overthrows. Who knows.

An Mendoza most likely of the F. Variety.

I can see it. He's a good player. I've been watching some Cal stuff and he's really similar stylistically to Rourke. Cal ran a lot of quick game and RPO and picked their spots to take shots. Sounds familiar right? Like Rourke not a huge arm but he can get those wide RPO throws out to the numbers. Like Rourke again, kind of a stiff, lumbering type of runner (he seems taller and/or leaner than Rourke) but is effective moving in the pocket, stepping up and making the throw or picking up yards when needed. Will take a hit and still deliver the ball. Horrific timing on slides. His Stanford comeback was really something.

He feels like a gamer and is extremely smart. Not sure how he got to Cal, but his offers coming out were basically all Ivys. Someone a while back said that if Alberto is able to develop like Fernando has then we really have something, but maybe we can have both.
