If we lose we’ll lose but not because of being afraid. The only thing that would genuinely worry me about the environment is Roarke being kind of over-hyped up early and maybe missing a couple of throws high and high throws get picked. Past that, these kids will eat that environment up. What actually worries me is OSU being disciplined enough to just run it about 50 times and controlling the ball for 40 mins and sort of bludgeoning them up front. TTT Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 IU OL should keep the qb much cleaner than in Michigan game vs Ohio State….thinking that Ohio State defense maybe not be as good or at least not better than Michigan defense. Bye week for OL offsetting home crowd some. Quote
Banksyrules Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 I think the best thing that could have happened to our coaches and QB were those defensive formations that Michigan used against us in the second half. One could tell we weren’t ready for it. Now with practice and a proper breakdown on how to play against that , we should be ready for anything. go iu bb, Home Jersey, MemphisHoosier and 1 other 4 Quote
Popular Post Hoosierfan2017 Posted November 18, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 18, 2024 Unless we lose by a lot, the committee will have no valid excuse to drop us much. Penn State lost at home to OSU, also hasn’t played anyone else “good,” and barely dropped. I expect some shenanigans because we’re not a football brand, but beat OSU Saturday and there’s nothing they can do. thebigweave, Banksyrules, HoosierTrav and 7 others 10 Quote

So, we’re not a brand…BUT, we’re one of the biggest stories, if not THE biggest story, of this season. I believe the tv folks might like that over another SEC school. I know about the relationship between ESPN and the SEC, but who knows what the committee thinks about the Cignetti/IU story. Maybe it means nothing…but who knows. go iu bb, Stuhoo and thebigweave 3 Quote

Hovadipo Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 3:30 or 7/7:30 kickoff for the bucket game. There'll be a slap fight over who gets USC ND between CBS and NBC, so not sure what network we'll land on. MemphisHoosier 1 Quote

O$U has tons of talent as always, but in the games I've seen (Oregon, Nebraska, Nwestern) they haven't even looked really good, let alone great. IU might wilt under the spotlight and get rattled by the first bigtime road game environment this year, but I don't think so. I will be utterly shocked IU loses by 12+ pts. I don't like to bet a lot of $$ but I already got it at IU +10.5 somewhere. I threw down more than I normally would. Depending on which Sportsbook, IU is either 8-2 or 9-1 ATS this year. Ohio State is like 4-6 or 5-5. Only game I know IU for sure did not cover in was Michigan. FIU, again it depends which sportsbook. Regardless, 8-2/9-1 is the best ATS among any Power 4 conference teams. Joe_hoopsier 1 Quote

Now we do know that the B1G referees and the conference would not tilt the playing field or rules to favor a brand name like Ohio State, again. I would not bet your money on this game for that one reason. Another reason is that the ball bounces and stuff happens. I would rather spend my money on a really decent bourbon. And will be thrilled when IU wins this game against the nuts. Quote
DChoosier Posted November 18, 2024 Posted November 18, 2024 I’ve picked IU to win every game this season but not sure who I will pick for this weekend. In Cig I trust but after the Michigan game a few things give me pause: Our OL didn’t handle UM’s DL and I can see us having the same issues vs OSU. Acknowledge that we had to sub in a guy on Thursday, so he only worked with the starters for a day, but OSU really has some studs on the DL as did UM. In the second half of the UM game Rourke looked kind of rattled. If that happens at OSU we will have issues. Can we run vs OSU? Protect Rourke? I seem to be in the minority but think the crowd will have an impact. Very important for us to get off to a quick start. Quote

Popular Post Stuhoo Posted November 18, 2024 Popular Post Posted November 18, 2024 Cig on whether playing at and against Ohio State will be intimidating: “Look; we’ve got a group of guys and a group of coaches that have won 24 of their last 25 games. So we don’t have a confidence problem.“ Cig on team health: “We’ll be at full strength for this game.“ LockdownD, Dave from Dayton, taco corp and 10 others 12 1 Quote
Stuhoo Posted November 19, 2024 Posted November 19, 2024 Hadn’t seen this video clip before, but it’s a really good one and not a word is spoken. Rourke broke his thumb in the first half and Tayven takes over. When the win is finished Tayven is a great teammate: LamarCheeks, LockdownD, Class of '66 Old Fart and 4 others 7 Quote

We will see how I feel throughout the week lol. What is crazy is Indiana just had their way with the Michigan defense for the first half. Stupid PI call and it's likely 21-3. For the life of me I don't understand what adjustments Michigan made for them to only score 3 points in the second half. It certainly all starts up front. I don't think OSU has the Defensive Tackles Michigan had. Graham and Grant both projected top 20 picks. A quick start I think is necessary. Can't play from behind all game. Quote
