Bench and depth are an issue but that’s largely a factor of starting over from zero again. In his first interview Carr talked about building depth through recruiting. Our 3 guys this year plus Sisley should contribute to that and we’ll start to see real depth next year.

Our starters got absolutely waxed by NW in the 2nd half the last time we played them.

Maybe I’m wrong, but it feels like we got off to quite a few bad starts last year. I’d love to see some +/- numbers from our starters.

Building blocks are fine and dandy but with..,(in the neighborhood of 20mil) for roster revenue, I’d say a lot of people want to win now.  

We are close no doubt, but you can’t fumble the ball at the 1 yard line.

I feel like we really needed another wing and definitely still need another playable big. We could go from shooting 50-3pt attempts per game to 10-15 attempts.

im not as high on this years team as everyone else may be. But we’ll see

Making the tourney is a must this season for sure. Beyond that I’d want 2nd round or better but honestly it was a complete rebuild (again) and they’re all multi-year players so do well enough in conference, make the tourney and keep building next season with a strong 2027 class and Portal adds and we’re back to consistent strong seasons. That’s the path.

So everyone minimizing concerns others have, what is your expectation for the Big 10 W/L record next year?

13-7 baring injury. Win 2 games in the btt and 1 in the ncaa. Finish somewhere around 26-9. 

Good enough to keep everyone except probably a couple freshmen. Add another hs kid to the incoming class and be in the market for upgrades to the last 2 kids we signed and maybe one really good wing.

Just gonna point out in the way of shear wishful thinking that Robert Miller from LSU is still unsigned. I’m sure it’s because he’s looking for ridiculous jack and probably guaranteed starter minutes but, man, from a skill fit perspective that’s all you want in a 3rd big right there.

He sounds like a good fit, so how much would he want? His stats don't exactly scream "I need starter money".

I was thinking that too when I saw them.  I take it that he might want a bit more than what we have available.  I do know from the CDD Q & A yesterday, he thinks of Sokolov as the 4th freshman for whatever that is worth.

Devries thinks of Sokolov that way because he's never met nor scouted the kid; taking the word of Carr's friend that he's worth the trouble.

DeVries signed a player without scouting him at all, refusing to watch a second of game tape?  Seems irresponsible.

Safe to assume that the Euro coach was interviewed, and that the Euro agent sent game footage. But that's a pretty quick scrub of a foreign player that likely had never heard of Indiana University until the week or two before he signed with us.

I agree, but that doesn't mean that with everything at IU's disposal that we shouldn't be building every season with a NC in mind. 

If you want to compete with the big dogs you have to think like the big dogs and not just settle for making the tourney and a second round scenario, that would be great for say, Butler.. 

We have to find a way to build a roster that won't get worn down by March and hopefully alleviate injuries etc..

I don't think we are far off base here either, but signing glorified walk-ons isn't going to cut it late in the season imo.  

Signing a quality 4/5 combo that can give some quality minutes would go a long way.
