RtT did not say that we need it.  Said he would be "..all ears."  (ie.  Listen to the discussion of the opportunity and look at the fit.)

Seems to be a reasonable statement by RtT.

And, yes, we may not need it.  It may not be part of the coach's plan.  But, obviously, there are other teams that have plans to counter what we might come up with...including their bigs.  Not only would it seem to be logical to have that weapon at our disposal...especially if the big can block shots, move, jump, and hit frees.  Plus, practices against a big for those learning a new system...may just have loads of benefits...defensively.

Does it matter?  They will be a relevant team every year and it all works out.  Indiana has tried to do it every which way.  Maybe DeVries is a miracle worker. We will find out in 6 months.

Watching posters crash out 2mos into year one is wild. It’d be almost excusable if we didn’t watch a midmajor football coach with a bunch midmajor guys get to a 12th place finish (or better).  
 

The funny thing is, if we suck next year how’s that any different than the last 25 years? Just relax and see what the new coach sucks we’ll know in a couple years and we can sit back and ***** for 3 years until he’s fired. IU basketball at its finest. No need to get a head start on the misery tho.

Isn’t a crashout. Just making observations. If DeVries is a Cig level genius we will all be ecstatic.

Yeah, I’ve said a million times I want a different brand of ball on offense and defense and we are for sure going to get that.

This approach doesn’t instill confidence in me or the basketball community but DeVries makes the big bucks to get big results. And if he does with this roster he deserves all the flowers. But the big boy schools are loading up and we aren’t on that stratosphere with this roster.

Did you honestly expect this program to be at the level of the “big boy schools “ in year 1?
