When it was released that Zrno's camp hadn't heard from CDV, it made me circle back to this same thought which I shared. Appears maybe CDV wasn't pushing to bring others with him (outside his son) versus players not wanting to follow him. Just an assumption obviously.

Yea, good point.

Also, I think there is more to the story if we were to get CDD/IU's side of it.  I doubt CDD does not respond an agent/player for no reason.  It feels like something else happened here that prompted CDD to ignore them.

Which is so great. I’m really pleased recruiting stories are going to be about our coach flying all over the country same day to land guys he thinks fit his system as opposed to a five star player the staff hardly knows falls into their lap because his mom texted the head coach after asking for his phone number so he could recruit her son. Enjoying the stark contrast.

“Question for you, Coach. Have you felt a lot of pressure from the fan base, knowing that they want you to remember the names of players that you’re trying to recruit? Oh? You don’t think that’s very difficult? Cool! What would you like to be wearing in the statue we build for you?”

Even if there isn’t more to the story… they can kick rocks. Didn’t he decommit before DDV was announced or shortly after? IMO after decommitting, DDV has no obligation to pick up the phone for a guy who committed to the last staff. Literally why waste the time? IDS running that story is lazy IMO.

Yep, he has every right to ignore that guy.  I would say it is also very possible he had looked at him previously and knew it was not someone he was interested in.  So no need to waste any time on someone you know is not a fit for your team.

I think/hope that our "delayed" timeline of receiving these commits was because he wanted to further watch tape, truly get to know some of these guys via zoom and then visits.

Yes. Hired on the 18th, announced on the 19th. Zrno decommitted on the 19th. Some BS how they had to act quickly. Another day or 2 or even a week in the middle of March wouldn't have made much difference. Now they seem like they don't like the options he has so they're trying, an failing, to use public perception to get DeVries to look at him. The IDS guy let himself get played because he posted a one-sided story, I hope he learns from this.

On the NIL piece… really curious how much Enright is getting. I will root like hell for him since he was the first to really buy in on the ground floor. And I feel much better about his role with Conerway, Wilkerson, and Miles on board. I think he can be a very good facilitator and solid enough on defense. If he is not commanding a relatively large pay day I bet we could spend enough to land 3 more impact players and round out with developmental guys. This team is going to be soooo fun to root for. I hope we get to see a preview during an international trip this summer.

Enright is an important part. He’s the guy who knows the system. He will be an extension of DeVries. He will help set the schedule and culture. He also gives it his all.

Or it's possible IU ignored him when he tried to get their side of the story?

IDS guy wrote a story.  Doesn't mean he got played.
