But we just got rid of Malik and Mack.

Yeah, that name evokes a lot of emotion (not all of it good) ... and, honestly, I did have to do a double-take...

IMO, money is probably the main motivator. If that’s not the sole deciding factor, I think it boils down to who sells him better on fit to put his best foot forward professionally. IU can probably say he will be one of our feature guys and get a lot of minutes. But it’s a first year coach at a new school and he doesn’t have a history of producing a ton of pros. Or, UK’s pitch: play less minutes but in a more clearly defined/focused role, probably on a winning team, and show what you can do in the exact role you’d play at the next level. If he were to choose to be one of the main guys at IU and the team struggles or he underperforms, that could hurt his stock. But it offers higher upside too. And a bigger payday. I think athletes of his caliber tend to bet on themselves.

and you could say his stock gets hurt at UK, lack of playing time, not getiing the ball in his hands enough to show anything.and so on

Not a fan. When you’re that undersized need to be quicker than Dug.

But Malik Mack? Kinda like him quite a bit.

Agree on Dug. Even Michigan pundits weren’t upset he left last year.

I like Mack’s scoring but we need some defense eventually. Really need conerway and i really want Wilkerson obviously too

Conerway is tough. I would be more disappointed missing on him than Wilkerson. I watched Mack this year a few times and it seemed like the step up from the Ivy was too much.

Hypothetically, conerway (defensive guard), Wilkerson (scoring guard), miles (athletic wing), Tucker (stretch 4), and Bailey (offensive 5) is really nice on paper. Very aware it’s wishful thinking, just thinking aloud . I still wonder about rim protection but I’m sure that will come eventually

Any word on how Conerway’s visit went or is he still on campus?

Ok so let me start by saying my buddy hates the portal as a mid major coach because they develop guys like Lanier and out their blood, sweat, and tears into them and then lose them to high majors because they get no support financially for NIL… with that being said I asked my buddy and he said yes he’s visiting and he also said the following when I asked if he was good enough for big ten and high caliber guy: sure, he is as good as any other mid major mercenary looking for a pay day. Any player that comes from our program is high character and high academic and good at shooting the 3.

So which is he a mercenary wanting a payday or a high character, high academic kid? Maybe your friend has sour grapes and needs to move up to a high manor job. Lol.

thanks for the info. I’ll choose to believe the high character part and say the mercenary is sour grapes.

Or would it be Conerway, Mack, Wilkerson, TDV, Bailey?
