I am starting to feel apathy creeping up on me at an alarming rate....I was almost to the point this morning where I was not even going to bother checking the board for updates.....IT FEELS like we will get our hopes up and get bashed in the face with Woodson for another year......The administration is waiting us out until we can give two craps about the program, and they are no longer under pressure...."Let's beat the fans down so badly with this nonsense that they stop caring, and then we can get to where we want to be...win a few high-profile games at home annually, a few exciting dunks for the kiddos, maybe we start the walk-ons so that everyone gets a trophy......MEDIOCRITY IS THE NEW NORM...Sounds crazy but younger fans and newer admin just do not identify with the passion of the fans that have been around since Knight and the winning days....thats my opinion. What is the incentive for them to deal with all the headaches and the news reports and the social media hate on and on and on....
My daughter is a relatively new fan. Like maybe last 3 years. Anyhow just giving the perspective that she cares and is sad when we lose. I try to tell her we suck and are probably not going to win but she still gets her hopes up. Anyhow point is the younger kids have passion and want us to win. I am not sure how long you can keep them though if you don't improve the program imo

Good post. Unfortunately there’s people more influential and frankly powerful than Dolson regarding IUBB…it’s part of the reason why Woodson is arrogant/cocky….yes, he’s part of that group. He will not willingly “retire.” Time will tell, but this isn’t going to be easy. It may have to take some serious balls from Dolson. Let’s hope.

I’m not insider, but I agree, this is how I see it playing out as well.  It will probably be nasty behind the scenes.  Scott has to win the political battle — he’s probably got Pam on his side and if he can get our key donors too he’s good to go.  Mike just doesn’t have a case to stay with these results after so much money spent, even the Cook crew will have to concede this point.

I’ve been against firing him mid season, but the argument for it is basically this. Try and salvage something for guys like Leal and Goode who are on their last go around and are busting their @$$.

At this point, unless Hunter is a miracle worker we’re probably hoping to have a competitive squad that has a punchers chance in the BTT. It’s something at least.

The other argument is, we squeak into the tourney, win a game, and then the Woodson cadre say, see? We are back. I don’t buy the argument from rational people that that wouldn’t be good enough.

I feel like our situation is more along the lines of the new Nike slogan that dropped during the Olympics. "Winning isn't for everyone." The people at/around IU who have the money and control don't know how to win and they refuse to get out of the way. Their egos won't allow it.

Things will definitely be getting uglier, the more we under-perform and lose.

I just hope Dolson's hands aren't tied right now with some "red tape" within Woodson's contract about firing "in season".....

I think you have it backwards. The people with power at IU have been around since the Knight days, and they are the ones who put us in this situation.

The students (younger fans) are the ones who chanted to fire him

So according to Woodson we're intentionally trying to shoot a three when we're only down by one. Math doesn't check out. Get Ballo the ball inside. Simple. Either win by one outright or Ballo goes to the line. He misses both we lose. He makes one we go to OT. He makes both we win. Instead we go for the unnecessary hero play, brick the contested fustercluck shot and lose. Make it make sense...

So now Woody thinks we are blind? Yeah you’re right Woody our eyes deceived us everything was executed smoothly. It was almost like watching a well oil machine. Go ahead and pat yourself on the back you jackass.

It just keeps getting worse with him.
