At least CTC's first year teams had fight to them!  We all knew he was building, but they competed and we all stuck with them!  This season, and the last decade for that matter, have been nothing close to that effort!  I think that is where most of the discontent comes from.  Also, Mike Woodson's arrogance!  I'm not sticking up for CTC, but at least we had some hope...All hope seems lost now with Woody!

If May is out of the picture I would throw the Brinks truck at Otzelberger. Played and coached in Wisconsin. Has to know the B1G . Better conference. Better facilities. Better NIL.
Next might be Jan’s, who coaches at a football school.

If it’s a couple of years before Woodson is gone, I would keep an eye on Jerrod Calhoun from Utah State. Coached at Youngstown State so knows the Midwest. And bonus, we’d be able to resurrect “Calhoun’s health is the word.”

He just signed an extension last month with a huge buyout so he isn't leaving ISU

I don’t blame these kids for not wanting to play for Woodson   Woodson barely recruits and forgets half these kids names (if he meets them at all).

i personally don’t think that’d be the case with May or Stevens

Understood. Point was that there’s much more to recruiting, than just raw NIL…at least most of the time!

Not for Woodson. It's simply give me a massive check all I'll go buy a team this spring. I bet he is looking for 8 million this time around

Almost 1500 pages to this thread —

Nearing record thread length? (For a specific topic thread, not general like college bball)

Here’s to hoping it’s over by end of season….

I find myself drawn to this thread..  I blame it on the weed.

I'm a Raiders fan...These 2 teams are almost the same for me. Great History with the last titles coming back in the 80's.  Both teams making the championship around 2001-2002, both losing!  IU having great hope around 2012 and crapping the bed! Raiders having great hope around 2016 and Derek Carr getting hurt on Christmas Eve!  Raiders firing Antonio Pierce...new coach to be determined!  Hopefully an IU coaching change in the near future to also give some promise going forward!

Thank God for Coach Cig and the IUFB team this year!  Who the hell woulda thunk?!

I hear you. I’m sure Dolson knows already.

Yea.  You’re right they keep in touch so Scott would know now.

Thoughts on Chris Collins? Was very surprised to find out he’s only 50 and what he’s done at Northwestern has been near miracle work

That’s his boyhood home.  How old are his kids.  Would he leave?  If he would, it could be interesting.

Yea.  Raw NIL gets a school in a recruitment, if you don’t have the NIL you get dropped early, but the staff still has to close with the pitch to the player.  Woody has consistently flubbed this, Haralson and Mullins being the latest examples.  Heck I think our NIL offers were actually a fair bit higher than the schools they picked!  Woody is that bad.

Probably won't be till after the illinois game tomorrow. If he wins that the fans will start to get excited until the next time woodson shows up so unprepared we lose by 35

Spot on.... I was watching the PSU-IU game with a buddy who's a Duke fan.... at one point he turned to me and said "holy $h*t, did I just see not one, but two IU players dive on the floor for a loose ball???"

The standard is the standard.... and ours is Mickey Mouse level

My annual for fun list and it's certainly not all-inclusive and I certainly don't mean to imply that every name on this list is a viable candidate.  Far from it.  Personal opinion is our next coach will be under the age of 55.

Why wouldn’t Pearl leave Auburn for IU?   I feel like IU is one of the very few places he would leave for.

I think he's just tired of IU messing around. He's been talked to about the IU job twice, even discussed numbers last year. I think he is happy at Auburn and they are promising his son the job in the future
