They “Retired” Coach Woodson Thread

I didn't like the Miller hire but at least with him I could squint and see a possibility.

With Woodson we were served spoiled cat food and were supposed to believe it was filet mignon.

@KathywithaC I actually appreciate all of your posts and transparency even if we all don't like all of the facts you share based on your clear insider knowledge. I, however, find this response to be inaccurate and makes a lot of what you say come into question. This is defending a multi year problem because we can't prove it...case in point: He did blame the fan base on a microphone. That was a jerk move - fact. He is underperforming unless this is the performance expected of him. Long time fans are dropping season tickets - fact. There is very real data here, and I can ramble on if you like.

I personally think his tone of arrogance really gets him into more trouble than just poor coaching. He's borderline unlikable and he doesn't give a F. Saying he's not going anywhere anytime soon and that it's his job as long as he wants it to be...that's super arrogant, and was perceived as nothing more than him reciting what he discusses with QB. 

My point - Rumors all start from somewhere. CMW not engaging with Cig, not attending events, not wanting the women to play on the same court as the mens team, getting in fights with coaches, firing people who question him, not knowing recruits names, putting half of an effort into recruiting because we have a huge NIL program....those are rumors, but those rumors stem from somewhere. I don't like how all of this is avoided because there's a "process" in place. Go talk to all the people that paid huge money to go to the Bahamas to watch an uninspired team "coached" by a guy who needs a nap and see how they feel about rumors versus facts.

I think Dolson had people he wanted to talk to about the job but not sure it ever got that close. Matta was just supposed to help Woodson transition from NBA to CBB. But when he kept getting left out of meetings he took the hint

Also to add when she says do we think Woodson or Buckner want to ruin their legacy? Woodson will never surround himself with people who don't already think he is great. His ego will not allow it. I've not been around Buckner long enough to know if his ego is as massive as Mike's is.

Part of this was from Glass promising Buckner that Woodson would be the guy after Crean. Then went behind his back to hire Miller. So then they were promised the next time it would be Woody.

Thanks -- I didn't know that.  Quinn is so out of line I can't imagine more negligent and selfish behavior from a trustee with respect to IUBB.

Tonight's game is what my officiating partners and I like to call a friends and family night. If you're not a family member of a player or close friend your probably not going. It's cold and it's on TV. CFP is also on and we would rather watch that. 

It's against a horrible team. The Woodson preseason cupcake schedule will probably keep it at two losses. He did his job.

Quinn has always tried to protect his best friend. Woodson was just trying to hire Buckner's son for a job he wasn't even qualified for

We are about a week and a half away from the buzzsaw known as Nebraska.  That game will tell us a lot.

Everyone just needs to settle down. We have a lot of new pieces that other teams in CBB don't have. Takes a little time to get them over the hump and to get them to play hard. Don't worry Woody and Money are working on this and we should be ready to go by mid-March.Sorry just having a little fun

I’m picturing @IUFAN1976 sending that email and instead of getting no response/a generic auto reply, he immediately receives a phone call from a blocked number. Turns out Scott really does read everyone’s message and take their points to heart. He’s calling to find out who leaked his plan of bringing Crean back on an interim basis, and he is real mad it’s already made its way to the message boards. Lol
