Hmmmmmm I’m thinking IU leaked this today to distract us from the basketball today. Usually things like this are leaked on Monday to get more national press coverage.

Meh, didn’t they get a spot on Big Noon to talk about this too? I feel like it’s just keeping IUFB in the news during the bye week, with some really damn good news, that makes a statement. Nobody is taking our head coach.  We are the emerging powerhouse baby.

Just my two cents. Definitely could have the added benefit of covering up any stinkers from basketball. This year I have a feeling many people won’t care too much about basketball until January at this rate. And I don’t mind that.

A friend and I were discussing this phenomena the other day. I am not nearly as locked in on BBall right now as I normally would be. Which is a crazy/great place to be. The internet narrative of IU being unwilling or unable to pay big boy money in football is now gone. We have our coach, and made a general statement to potential future coaches and players that IU is prepared to have a seat at the big boy table. It is a good thing all around no matter how Cig pans out (although I am guessing we end up naming the stadium or field after him before all is said and done).

It had nothing to do with basketball lol. It was about getting it done and over with on the by week and moving on to OSU starting Monday.

Playing a bunch of cupcakes during the early months doesn’t help with that either. Even when I was excited about IU basketball it was hard to lock in until January.

Today’s game was fun. Looking at Alabama’s and Purdues schedule and I wish we had more than that
