We certainly weren't any Woodward and Bernstein, but we were pretty dogged in our coverage. I know, however, things have changed in the past 30-plus years. 

As I said, didn't intend to throw stones but I just want more confirmation.  In the late 60's (that's 19 not 18 btw) I had fraternity brothers who worked on the IDS and I know they took their work very seriously.

I know you're joking but I'll still add why it wouldn't be Walsh. Hunter and Rosemond both have Associate Head Coach titles, Walsh does not. It would definitely be one of those 2 who would end up as interim HC.

IU fires Woodson and replaces him with an even less well equipped asst coach with 8 games left creating a little more  chaos than already present, because somehow this nadir of the IU mens  basketball sh*t show  just fell below IU standards?

Archie Miller finished a 12-15 4th yr campaign with 0 NCAA appearances. 

People are letting their personal feelings for MW make them a bit histrionic. Whether he quits, gets fired, or rides out the waves of boos the remainder of the season has zero bearing on how the next hiring will be conducted or result.

The logic is the same as any other workplace in America. If you are getting fired for gross incompetence you don’t get to hang around for a month.  
 

Where’s the logic in letting a guy who was already toxic hang around the lockerroom for a month.

Because IU doesn't fire coaches in the middle of the year for gross incompetence. Not who they are nor will they ever be. We've been over this.

The forced "resignation" is significant verbiage as it pertains to his contract.

I stated for a while that I am in favor of Woodson being terminated. I also stated that I wouldn't be involved in any sort of character assassination. No need to go down that road, imo. Only makes the poster(s) and this forum look bad.

If you would have asked me 1000 times which of the 360+ division one schools would be the most likely to create unnecessary drama while trying to make what should be a simple announcement, I would have said IU 1000 out of 1000 times without blinking.

For the love of all Seth Davis. 

1. Yes, we may end up with a "lesser name" such as McCasland (YAY!!), Calhoun, Cronin, etc.
2. But when he says "ending up with a "lesser name who does a solid job"
   • Who in their right mind could possibly think that Archie Miller or Mike Woodson has done a solid job? Neither did a solid job not just for IU, but wouldn't be considered to have done a solid job for any B1G program.
