I don’t believe he’s ever been on anyone’s list, including Dolson’s. He’s a nice guy and I know he’s reached out to IU previously, but several things would need to change if he were to be considered if / when we have an opening at the end of the season.

Here we go. The thread is vibrant today. Let the games begin!!!

20 years as a fan. This is the all-time low right?

Woodson’s results feel like rock bottom, but the bizarre online contingent scolding fans may be even more concerning. I don’t think that goes away when Woodson does… hopefully there’s just less to bicker about when we field a competitive team again.

Screen names are usually not meant to be taken literally chief. He’s not claiming to be a doctor and I’m not actually an IU Home Jersey btw

Am I a “chief”?

It's just Ckatchy. The rest of us are pretty united and mostly rational here. There's really only one contrarian.

“Rational”? Lol. Curious as to what makes me a “contrarian” on this? Neither you nor anyone has been able to communicate that.

From the article:

In the 2008-09 season, when Tom Crean put his first IU team together with pipe cleaners, Gorilla glue and a string of guys no other Big Ten program wanted, Indiana lost 17 of 18 conference games. Precisely two of those losses were by 25 or more points — one on Jan. 10, the other on Feb. 7.

An excellent article.  A little emotional, but excellent nonetheless.

You know someone who has donated at least $10M to IU? That’s a small list, but great. And yeah, Tracy was a potential roadblock, to say the least, but she was far from the only one. What reasons did your friend give you for why it wasn’t done, as well as why BS spoke about the job publicly in the manner he did?

I don’t my dad does.  Brad was willing to take the job but Tracy and the kids weren’t ready to move yet.  And Brad was happy in Boston.  It’s not like he was miserable or anything and willing to fight his family but coaching at IU has been a dream of his.

This is where Whitten could come in handy.  Send her to Boston and stroke that massive ego Tracy apparently has.  Give her what she wants.  Let her be the queen of Bloomington for the next 20 years or whatever.

Wait you’re a Jersey? I thought we were talking to Tony Soprano. What is going on today??

No, but it appears you may be slightly autistic (genuine observation, I myself am probably on the spectrum) or a GPT bot.

I’m autistic because I think IU will keep Woodson through the end of the season? Thanks for that purely unemotional diagnosis.

Emotional, visceral? It's easy to troll you and your emotional attachment to some old way that was never as pristine as made out to be. Anyway VPN is back up and I am expected to get something done at work today unfortunately! Fire Mike Woodson today! He's obviously not able to be a successful basketball coach at Indiana University and will end in objective failure. No one has to wait for anything to end the Mike Woodson era. He was a great player and noted alumni, but as a coach he has failed, objectively.

Literally last month you were trying to dunk on May for a perceived coaching issue.
You even said he’s not good enough to do the job here.

Now you’re saying he won’t be interested, with the implication that he’s at a better situation currently (one HE turned around in year 1). Which is it dude?

What about a name like Eric Musselman. Offer him the gig, I think he’d have us rolling in year 1

I listed the consensus favorites which of course are : Stevens, Pearl, and May. Of the three, I would only consider Pearl to be a home run hire. I have several reservations with both Dusty May and Brad Stevens. Doesn't mean they couldn't win here, but wouldn't shock me if they didn't.

I think Musselman could handle the noise and expectations but I don't think his style is sustainable. Plus I don't think fans would like him.

Troll....plain and simple...This is the Fire Woodson thread.....Its not a Lets Debate Firing Woody thread....I am sure that you can start that one and see who gives you the time of day....so, you are here to stir the fans that want him gone up a bit....
